i'll be back once only when all the necessary mods are done, might take a while but the next time I hit the track, no more pussy footing around and none of this keeping the revs low so I don't over heat kind of crap. I'll be back with a better handling car.......so watch out all.

i'll be getting swaybars, oil cooler installed, proper wheel alignment, will try to fit a 4 point harness, will also try to make some cooling ducts for the brakes. New brake fluids and a good bleed. GTR wing for more downforce.

well i did end up making it on sat to the track and if you think sun was quiet you should have come on sat there was only about ten cras through the whole day and i was one of them had a great time the car went good except a cloged fuel filter but was great to get out i might be going to one of the next ones early next year to give it another run. In the arvo i had thhe track to myself just for a drift session cause everyone else was to scared to get out when it rained. and the day was good cause they just let us go when we wanted no class separation.

people who are scared to go out on track just because its wet are majorly soft.

admitefly one was mal rose and he only had slicks. but it was good there was plenty of track time im hoping to go out again on either the 2nd 5th or 6th if im allowed and if i can afford it anybody else going on any of those dates?

hey guys, i think im gonna go on the 28th of December...

anyone else thinking of going?

ive never been before...this should be intertesting...

does evenyone go stupid fast or can you just go at your own pace? (not something silly like 60k...faster than that...)

hey mate good luck for your first day out - the main thing is to take it easy and build up speed carefully - and always pay attention, loosing concentration for even a second can be a mess.

just work up to speed once you are familiar with where the track goes, go nice and quick on the straights but treat the corners with care until you know how the car handles it. Also brake hard and early until you are sure of the speed you can make each corner.

start out easy and you'll have a ball!

Duncans advice rocks :)

As well as being safe and learning you and your cars limits, you MUST have fun!! Its always important to come back in with a smile/grin on your face :)

James and Albert - go some whiteline sway bars from sydneykids group buy

and for the handbrake - meh, just get a drift button ;) mine works a treat!

^^ :)

drift button yo!,

yeah ill pm sydkid in abit

Waffles- I pop my track cherry last week :)

just ask everyone who were there how much fun i had :)

especially duncan!

but nuh, you WILL enjoy youself, make sure you take it easy during your first lap, and work your way up as duncan said, is all from experience ;)

oh guys you rock, thanks for all the advice. im gonna take it real easy as i have just had my baby fully resprayed. but its crazy how quick the stone chips come about..grrrr

however im not so precious that i wont drive my car like it should be driven, hence the easy start into track time....can do all the great performance mods without stretching her legs!

ha ha ha i had just resprayed my front bar a couple of weeks ago, now i'll have to redo it again. this time gotta give it a few more coats and extra few coats of clear coat just in case

BTW frozenwaffles, as James will tell you - the most important thing to do before you get to the track is to bleed your brakes properly with good brake fluid like Motul RBF600. Nothing will stop the fun quicker than having no brakes left after 3 laps when you get to the end of the straight......

BTW you guys....handbrakes are for holding cars when you park them on a hill, not for track work

    • It turns out that Setrab make a fan specifically for the oil cooler which is great and I've installed it with minimal swearing. I removed my 2x 12in push fans from the front of my aircon condenser and wired them into this. My main thermo fans kick on when I use the aircon anyway and would effectively already be working as puller fans through the condensor which is infront of the rad. The push fans (understandably) didn't really do much in the config they were previously in so now they're out. Now we're on to the "Oil fan doesn't really do much either!". Yes I'll duct it next if it does nothing in heavy use which it shouldn't. But hey, the object exists and fits great and is cool. Let me have this. The car is still in the "do my fittings leak oil now? do my wheels actually rub?" phase. I did a spirited drive on them and didn't hear or feel anything. Then I got back home and noticed there were grind marks on the inside of the rims, though I couldn't see where they were touching I got out the grinder and attacked the suspects. Note: I do not know how to use a grinder. Then I realised I had dragged my new rims across my concrete driveway before I did this drive. I didn't think I had damage at that time when I briefly looked...... but remembered this occurred after I did all the angle grinding. The grinding on the wheels in some very specific spots. It's not around the whole rim for example, which lines up with dragging it across concrete more than hitting a suspension component for even 1 full rotation. So everything is currently painted and taped up and I need to test it some more to see if it really IS rubbing, but from inside the car it doesn't feel like it is. In other news I attempted to do a before and after comparison of the heads/cam upgrade thing. Dynos lie, everything is in different measurements. Here is the data from the sandown back straight. Car go faster than before. Vroom vroom.
    • Here's my base ignition. +3 correction to redline when shooting water/meth which is always on. Looking at my old ignition table, I should be able to add 1-2 degree's next time I'm on the dyno.  Let me know your thoughts.
    • Given what I know now - same haha, but this was 12 years ago with second hand 740cc Nismo injectors in my S15 daily, I was too busy hunting elsewhere for the issue to even look at the injectors, running through some cleaner was a happy coincidence haha
    • Not a terrible idea. But if I ever had concerns that my injectors were sufficiently dirty to be causing me a problem, they would be out of the engine and onto the actual injector cleaner/testing bench.
    • Run some injector cleaner through it I had a similar issue that plagued me for months, even tried replacing the cat. If one or more injectors are blocked up the ecu sees ping so pulls timing and makes the tune rich overall, you'll see black smoke coming out of the exhaust and like me assume it's running rich but it could only be one or two cylinders  $10 bottle of injector cleaner and the next time I hit boost it pumped out a huge plume of black smoke, cleared the blockage and then ran great, if that's not the issue it's only a cheap thing to try haha
