Manual Conversion Problem?

okay, ive bneen told that 2dr & 4dr r32 share the same gearbox cross member.

so i tried both the auto and manual (which look identical) and none of them line up with the holes on the chassis (it sits too far forward).

its off by like 3-5cm or so.

i went to a wrecker to look for a r32 manual gb xmember and it was the exact same one as ive got..

i checked out elushun's thread

and he used the auto gb xmember and it bolted up fine.

car in question is a r32 4door skyline.

can anyone help me on this and shed some light please?

do i need a customer gearbox mount or modified x-member or something?

im trying a R33 manual one tomorrow as the wrecker is getting it in for me.

i've used the manual gb crossmember...it was on the r33 rb25 gb

yeh i had a look at your thread, apparently r33/34 have a manual & auto xmember which are diff but for R32 theyre the same. i just found out just then

so somehow i gotta mod the one i have now to make it fit (2 out of 4 holes line up)

any ideas how to mod it?

so your doing a conversion on ur 32 sedan which has a 25det motor?and ur putting in the rb20 gb?

yeah thats right dude.

i gotta mod the gb x-member now, what a bloody hassle :s

ppl have also said s14 ones fit so ill go try one tomorrow and hope that works.. if not time to start welding and shit :s
