this car did not have one sctatch or dnet on it. the other reason why i also jumped out there in the hail like a crazy person is because i only have 3rd party insurance on it and if it ended up like our three other cars "write offs" next to it, it would of been even more damage to fix. and more damage means more $$$. luckaly i have alot of pannel beaters and spray painters in the family. but wat pisses me off even more is that it just came out of the workshop at hills motorsports and spent a few $$$ on friday with all my new bits on there and i cant even enjoy it properly.

mabye its time for comprehensive insurance???

I was one of the lucky ones in 1 respect, I live in St Marys and got nothing but rain and wind... But on the other hand I work in real estate as a property manager and have had to deal with the 60+ properties that have been severely damaged, I really feel for those guys and the owners! :bunny:

sorry to hear everyone...

yea luckily my car is still in storage at the mechanics waiting to get fixed. my parents alfa got raped.. smashed windscreen, dented roof, bonnet, guards etc. it was pretty bad as im in the castle hill area where also the power was out for like 4-5 hours.

I'm in Colyton/St Clair area and the stones were only small-ish but hard enough that they dented the shit outta my roof and the pillar between the roof and top of the doors... weird that one side of the place got hit and the other was basically untouched.

Im guessing they couldnt provide a licence/documentation to prove that they are accredited workers?

There was a warning on the radio about tradespeople quoting and then receiving deposits for the the work, then pissing off with the deposit!

most off the houses in my street have broken glass..the obrien glass guy has been to heaps of houses on my street

anyone got a CF bonnet for fit r33 gts-t S1?

It's been awhile but last time I was at Unique Autosports they had one. I'm pretty sure Powerplay can get an awesome Eastbear one in too (pricey, but worth the money, and definitely hail proof ;)...I should know).

my car fuct!!!!....roof has heaps of dents and bonnet is a write off, so im gonna get a carbon bonnet

sux to be me.....i was working and the hail car out of nowhere

first thing i did was grab cardboard from the rubbish bin and then ran and put it over my roof...i had to hold it on my car

now my body is covered in massive bruises...and one massive hail stone hit me in the neck and i cant turn my neck

Talk about throwing yourself in front of the one you love.

When you have A pillar and roof damage the car is write off as from then on it has a weakened structure and wont be legal for road use, its also void for insurance.

I.e it will snap in half in a head on and squish ur head off.

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
