Yeah, my brother bought a set of tyres from them a few months back. I can't really comment on how the tyres were, but when we bought new tyres from bob jane, they said that the tyres we purchased from that shop was really dodgey.

I don't know, they're probably just trying to bag out other businesses.

Do they have any 17" tires?

I couldn't find anything on the site.

Yeah they do.

Click on stock holdings, and look at the column on the right hand side of the page.

Did your brother have any problems himself? Did BJ decribe the problem or just do the old 'these are crap' line.

Either way i'm going to get some 17"s shortly, I'll report back on what they are like.

Yeah, they should have some 17" tyres. I just have a feeling they're shit quality though. :)

My brother didn't have any problems with the tyres as far as I know, I think bobjane were just trying to bag out other businesses. I can't really say, I don't know shit about tyres. :(

Would 205/55R16 fit the standard Gtr rims

the tyre says 225/55R16 on the gtr tyre

what could be the difference??? oh and are these 2nd hand tyres compliance/RWC safe

I have been told about these guys by a couple of different people. Seem to be the goods.

They will rim them up for you aswell. (not sure about rims being on car though)

Tyres will be fine for compliance and RWC.. only issues i have run into before is getting them fitted with anything less that about 80% tread and if they have had puncture repair.

As far as width goes for compliance i would probably stick to whats listed on the tyre plate/sticker thingy.

they seem a little narrow to me. How wide is the stock rim?

The standard 32 GTR rims are 8" wide if I remember correctly. They have 225 tyres on them from factory. Those 205's should fit, but why do you want to run thinner tyres than standard?

i got a mate that can get me brand new tyres for $85 pretty decent one aus standards, but i wont get them if it not reccomended.

the size of those tyres are the 205/55/R16

I bought tyres from these guys a few time. Seems fine for second hand tyres.

also liza's tyres in bayswater sell second hand tyres, although be careful about what you buy from them as some of their sets have 3 good ones and 1 dodgy one like i found out :domokun:

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
