Hi guys,

thinking about getting my ecu remap from one of the member here, but can't remember who ??

can anyone point me to the right direction or recommend the guy who the member here to do the job

cheers

dr dift does em, and hes a member.

havnt used him yet.

but will be going down dat path

r33 ecu just needs a daughterboard soldered to it to fit the rom/emulator

r32 can be rechipped without an additional daughterboard and can be made to work in an r33 i.e. switch 2 inj wires and add the r33 vq maps etc. - feedback loops are all crazy but?

Many people have asked to me about R33 remap.

Thank you

OK.

When your car has been boosted up (normally over about 12psi but some cars only 7-11psi.) with air flow meter being near 5V, RB25det ignition timing map will retard.

As a result, engine misfire and engine cut will be experienced.

I have three remapping options

1) REMAPPING FROM DYNO SHEETS AND CAR MODs.

After receiving your dyno sheet (I need AFR and rpm) I will remap chip accordingly and send it to you. Original chip will be replaced with remapped chip on ECU.

As soldering 84pin chip is difficult, you probably need to find a soldering ship. eg; TV and video repair shop.

Or, I could fit remapped chip to my spare ECU then exchange it with yours.

Also I could fit remapped chip to your ECU.

*please check on dyno again when you get the chip to ensure safety.

*Please Check and adjust ignition timing, AFM (many cars fault), O2 sensor before dyno.

Advantages

Able to remap in all states.

Obvious increase in power.

If your car becomes too lean or pings after fitting my chip, I will make another chip.

Disadvantages

I’m able to remap up to intercooler, bigger turbo, fuel pump, Z32 AFM.(I can not remap to full tune engine.)

You will pay dyno fee 2 times.

Dyno shop may charge for checking and adjusting ignition timing, AFM (many cars fault), O2 sensor before dyno

Price chip only from $350 (std turbo)plus post

Exchange from $400 plus post

2) REMAPPING ON ROAD

I will fit wideband air fuel ratio meter, and rap top computer, modified ECU for real time remap, emulator and map tracer.

We (you and me) will go for a road test then I will remap ECU real time.

Advantage

Remap will be adjusted to real driving condition. (Its real load and window for intercooler.)

You’ll be able to recognize an obvious difference in feel when driving

Free checking and adjusting of ignition timing, AFM (many cars fault), O2 sensor

Cheaper price than dyno tune.

Disadvantages

If you are provisional driver may be dangerous.

You can not see exact power increase

If your car has a lot of power I can not road tune-danger factors

Price from $450(std turbo)

3) DYNO TUNE

Advantage

You’ll be able to see exactly, how much power increase.

Safer than road tune. (No accidents and no police)

You do not need drive.

Free check and adjust ignition timing, AFM(many cars fault), O2 sensor

Disadvantages

You can not check drive feel.

You will pay tune fee and dyno fee.

Price from $500 plus dyno fee(std turbo about1- 2 hours $90-180)

I tuned his car about 3years ago on the road.

His car made 196Kw at 8psi.

Power will increase about 15-20kw.

Some cars over 30kw more. (FMIC is very important)

This is R33 A/T dyno sheet.

33kw more.

(red) Std boost (7.4psi) std ECU.152kw

(green) Std boost (7.4psi) my chip.abou 170kw

(blue) boost 11psi my chip. 185kw

flash-tune of a factory ECU only makes sense if you never plan to mod your car again

by saying that - I'd be taking my pride n joy to a well respected tuner with aftermarket ECU

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
