Wondering if anyone has cracked the OBD2 consult 2 side of the V35 yet in regard to using a P.C and Interface plugged into the consult port under the dash and can offer advice.

I have scanners that I used on other cars and interfaces but not sure how to go about accessing the internals of the V35. Consult 2 is too expensive for me.

Following on from that what can you access, what does it mean and what can you change?

I have. The OBDII protocol is no bigge it's just a standard protocol but you can't do much with it. I'm currently working on Nissan Data Scan II that will work with Consult II protocol. So far I can monitor most parameters and registers. The final product will also let you log data, adjust idle speed and ignition timing as well as reading and clearing error codes. The NDS II software and PC adaptor will be available through Blazt.biz.

Cheers,

Tom

I have the Autoenginuity Scantool and it is very limited with the V35 as JDM cars do not run the OBD-II interface, they use a different protocol, not even Nissan's Nissan Consult at a service department could talk to the car.

Consult_Protocol___Commands_Issue_6.pdfWill see as tomorrow it goes in to the local dealership. I think the issue is more the Nissan proprietry code or extensions that it uses.

The G35 guys say consult 2 works and I see no reason why it would not. I think the skill level of the Nissan Technicain comes into play here not so much the tool.

This is the Consult Protocol attached.

Yeah, thats the Consult I protocol from PLMS website prepared by Nissan Technical Group. Completely different to Consult II protocol and can't be used on our v35 Skylines.

The Consult II unit from Nissan dealership will work but do you want to spend $2500 to get one?

need someone in the USA to get it though. they will not ship outside the USA and if you email them you will end up with a call from repco here in Oz. the machine that repco offer does not work on a 2001-2004 v35 but does on a 2004.5 up.

look at the launch x413 if you want to play with the internals of that car. as for software packages - no real idea - I use scanners.

    • My steering lock unit on my Infiniti G37 has failed. The car is a local 2012 Infiniti G37 (Q60 ) I need to replace the unit My local mechanic said i need to buy a complete steering wheel assembly. Does anybody no any mechanics in Gold Coast or Brisbane who can fix this issue or where i can buy just the Steering lock control unit. Thanks
    • thanks, will conduct myself accordingly. i unfortunately put about 150 miles on the car before reading this thread again, however no PS issues, and definitely no turbo issues. it spools normally and still feels fast to me, probably because my previous car was an N/A auto sedan...gonna go fix the PS vacuum line though lol. safe to say, got what i came to this thread for. thanks
    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
