g'day guys,

Im looking for a good headunit with the following features:

-MP3

-USB

-Bluetooth

For now its gonna be hooked up to the stock speakers without an amp. Speakers and amp will come later.

What would you recommend and which brands are the best nowadays ?

Cheers

well i currently run a headunit which is called EANON, mine was made in the states which you can get some here in aus but made in china or malaysia, mine was 400us$ but it has a 7 inch touch screen dvd monitor with GPS,TV,IPOD control,DVD,DivX,CD changer mode,av in, and usb in, it is the best thing i ever bought at the low cost, my mate bought one here from ebay for $469 delivered from ebay and came in 2 days, works like a dream

I just put a Pioneer DEH-7950UB into rushs car. She seems happy with it, can control an iPod or just play mp3's straight from a usb memory stick.

The problem with most of the usb headunits is the usb port is in the front, which is retarded. Who wants an ugly usb stick sticking out of the front of thier headunit? How long till you go to change gear and knock it and snap it off in there. Seriously whos idea was it to put a front usb port on a head unit. Anyways this Pioneer one has a rear usb port, with an extension cable. I just ran that into her ashtray below so she can just open ashtray, plug in usb, close astray, nice and clean, no chance of snapping the usb key off in the headunit.

It doesn't have bluetooth standard but you can get an addon module for it for bluetooth.

Nice, that looks like it has everything i want  Where could i get one of these other than online ?

anyone that sells blau can get you one. I sell them as well part of the reason I put it up.

Instead of making a new thread, thought I'd post here, looking for a h/u as well, nothing fancy really, what I want it to have is:

- Front aux-in

- Plays MP3

- CD-changer control (if it will work with factory nissan stacker)

I don't intend to get subs or anything because I like my boot space, and it's only going to running some speakers off the h/u. Obviously I'm not looking for fancy, or expensive

Not at the car atm, but pretty sure it says Clarion on the side, guessing it was a factory option R33 one, as apart from the one brand sticker, everything else on it just says Nissan, will be able to tell you for sure later. Will only decks from that brand work with the stacker?

show me the unit and I can tell you. if it says clarion expressly on it show me the unit and the plug on the side of it. there are two versions of it and one of them is useless now.

as a rule only the brand of the stacker will suit the source unit.

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
