Hi if anyone knows of a dual cab or SWB 4wd for sale I am after one. Dual cab the preference.

Looking to spend up $7K and after a diesel. If its turbo or has something different like a RB motor in it I am also keen.

Can be a little rough in the body as long as mechanically it will be ok. Also need aircon fitted with potential to work if not already.

Thanks

Greg

Nah not yet.

I am posting everywhere I can.

Problem is there are heaps of these interstate but not SA.

I could get one there however we all know what Regency is like.

I went on a chrter trip with a guy from fishsa called big Micky.

I didnt know until after that he was also a Skyline SA member.

lol yeah i met him once brought a auto trans from him small world hey

you wouldnt have any trouble getting a dual cab over regency unless it had a RB engine in it

Yeah hopefully. As I may need to get one interstate.

Thing is it may have a couple of dents faded paint. 300T ks (second motor).

Probably ripped interior etc.

Is for a beach basher left at yorkes so all this is fine however Regency may not look upon it favourably.

If I got one here I wouldnt care if the motor was different from complied. Its staying at the coast.

Have you consideres a Suzuki Sierra?

They were the vehicle of choice 10 years ago when I was down the South East.

They are very hard to get bogged (due to lite weight) and were cheap enough not to worry about the damage of salt water corrosion.

Dont use a Toyota Surf - nice cars but too many problems when driven on the sand - especially the smaller motors.

Needs to be able to tow and launch a boat.

Even a 2.8 diesel is smallish for that but I am not travelling far.

hey dude i got a 720 dual cab nissan/datsun (model is now the navara) its got a 2" body lift. aircon, body is preaty good small amount of rust considering its a 4wd. Done 280t k's. Ill be probably looking at selling in a couple months. It blows a fair bit of smoke probably due to blocked injectors. Let me know if ya be keen

Yeah I could well be. As long as it doesnt die on me. Is it a Diesel? If so what size? It will need to tow a tonne 80km round trips.

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
