hey guys,i had to pit my car just last month as it came over from qld,i took the car to warick licence centre, they were very helpfull and they gave me full permits for everything,fmic,zorst,pod,4 gauges, welded speed lock fittings and even my catch can!!!!,, the bloke i delt with was john,i think he likes imports as he luved the sound of my atmo bov during the test drive, which he didnt pick btw,he just wrote all my mods on one peice of paper and signed it ,cost me about 17 bucks i think,it has already saved my arse once,i tell ya its a great feeling shoving the permits in a cops face when he`s just about to yellow you for a pod filter, haha

The lack of consistancy amazes me!

ossie's having major dramas, flake is flyin' easy, I got my car over the pits with a twincam 30 piece of piss and have seen many stupid cars make it over successfully (make engine for example when it was sporting twin 2540s in a commodore made it over no dramas)

I went over the pit just a few months ago, passed no problems but didnt give any permits for anything, though the only questionable thing i have is the pod and he just checked it was nice and secure and sent me on my way.

Not sure about "no longer", but at the moment they are definately making them harder to get. Got my yellow mid August & it's still on there...

From now on I think will just drive around with yellow sticker since they changing the stupid rules :)

I dont get it right.

Pits wouldn't give me permits for; POD, FMIC, strut brace etc when I asked, they refused saying I don't need permits for them.

I said "Well can I have them anyway, as I don't want to be pulled over and given a yellow for no reason"

They said "Well then the officer doesn't know what he is talking about"

Great. If I get a yellow I'm still gonna have to pay the $50 and waste a day of work getting it off!

F*ck the system!

^ email the dpi and getthem to send u a copy of EI 107A then keep it in car :P

show it to cops then they wont sticker you over Pod filters

Vehicle Safety Branch Examiner’s Instruction

Vehicle Intake and Exhaust Systems

Pre ADR 27C Vehicles

There is evidence to suggest that many ‘hang-on’ emission control devices for these vehicles are no longer available from original equipment manufacturers and/or spare parts suppliers. This applies to vehicles manufactured prior to 31 January 1986.

Taking into consideration the non-availability of emission control components, examiners do not need to insist on original equipment emission control systems being intact.

Consequently vehicle examiners do not need to issue a modification permit for exhaust extractors.

It is also unnecessary to issue a modification permit for non-genuine air filters providing induction noise is not excessive. These include cone or pod type filters.

Not withstanding the above, vehicles must continue to comply with the Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Rules 2002 with respect to the emission of smoke.

Post ADR 37 Vehicles

Vehicles manufactured from 1 February 1986 must continue to comply with the applicable design rule for the year of manufacture (Australian Design Rule 37/00, 37/01, 79/00 or 79/01).

Catalytic converters and other emission control devices must be retained and functioning correctly. However where exhaust extractors are fitted a modification permit is not required.

It is also unnecessary to issue a modification permit for non-genuine air filters providing induction noise is not excessive and that all engine management sensors are fitted and operating. These include cone or pod type filters.

EI-107A (Feb 05) Application date Feb 05

or pm me your emailaddy i i can send you a copy of it :O

I just went over the pits and asked them for permits and got the exact same "you don't need them" story.. there's obviously a grey area between the cops and licencing places we unfortunately we suffer for it!

And no I didn't pass... yet :P

I got permits for my one but i still said fak the system and fak the police too. If i get yellow i will just drive around with the yellow on it. Doesnt really concern me with the yellow on the car. Stupid laws :P

Um, ok then. But you would of course get whatever you needed to fixed before they sent out a demand notice for the license plates & the car becomes unregistered, right? :)

did that dude doesnt pay off really :) , got a $400fine and this was back in 2005 (mid year), so i would say it's much higher these days...

Na you wont get fined if u extended ur yellow stickers, thats all u need to do. I try that on my wrex few yrs back, the cops cant do nothing about it when u got yellow.

    • I'd be very surprised if you can buy new OEM mats. But if you can, I want some too!  Do you have links to the variations you found? Also, where are you located? I found that Nengun is happy to list items to purchase but when you do buy them you'll get an email that it's actually discontinued. As far as I know the variations in floor mats are different colour schemes as well as automatic and manual having a slightly different shape. The automatic ones fit into a manual car without issues, but I think you'd have trouble fitting the other way around. I have photos that show the shape difference if you care. FWIW I bought sets of used floor mats in decent condition at yahoo auctions.
    • Hi 🙋‍♂️. Just bought my Unicorn but the interior need some minor work so it would match my expectations ;). I noticed it is hard to get used oem floor mats in good condition so i started to dig if there's any chance to buy set of new ones. I found two websites - nengun and amayama and it looks like one can still buy factory new floor mats in Japan, but thers a small issue. Some mats (i assume genuine, oem ones) are marked as G4900 and these are "discontinued". The ones you can buy are marked as G4911 but i have no idea if these are also oem, made by other producer or some lower quality replacements that looks entirely different. Can anyone help? 😃  P.s. there is also some strange indication - 0V005, 0V015 and 0V505. Any idea what does it mean? Would appreciate any help with this 🙏
    • Hi, Marek here 🙋‍♂️. I finally fulfilled my longtime dream - recently bought Stagea and now waiting for it to arrive in Poland. There's only few of these in my country, and one of the owners  recommended mi this forum as a source of all the info i'd need since now i own one  so here i am.
    • Version 1 aluminium airbox is.......not acceptable No pics as I "didn't like the look.....alot" Even after all my "CAD", and measurements, the leg near the fusebox just didn't sit right as it ended up about 10mm long and made the angle of the dangle look wrong, the height was a little short as well, meh, I wasn't that confident that Version 1 was going to be an instant winner I might give Version 2 another go, there's plenty of aluminium at work, but, after having in on and off a few times, and laying in the old OEM airbox without the new pod filter and MAF, there may be an option to modify the OEM air box and still use the Autoexe front cover and filter.... maybe This >  Needs to fit in here, but using the panel, and not the pod, the MAF will need to fit in the airbox though> I'm thinking as the old OEM box and Autoexe cover that is sitting in the shed is just sitting around doing nothing, and they are relatively abundant and cheap to replace if I mess it up and need another, it may well fit with some modifications to how the Autoexe brackets mounts to the rad support, and some dremiling to move it get in there, should give me some more room for activities, as I don't want to move the MAF and affect the tune Sealing the hole it requires to stick it in the air box is simple, a tight fit and some pinch weld will seal it up tight  I am calling this a later problem though
    • and it ends up being already priced in as though you're just on 91RON without any ethanol. Car will lose a bit of economy as the short and long term fuel trims bring down the AFR back to stoich or whatever it is for cruise/idle for the engine.
