It will work better if you "reverse flush" the radiator. By adding water in the top, all you are doing is forcing the crap further into the cores.

Take it out, upend it and push water in the what is normally the bottom of the radiator.

hopefully have fixed my overheating probs will find out when i put the rad back in the car on the weekend . took my rad to work and sent it of to the guys that do our rads for our work . turns out it was about 40% blocked and the top tank wasent the best adding to that my thermostat was not working properly hardly operning in a boiling saucepan of water hopefully it's sorted .

on the other hand tonight my sons r33 looks like it has blown a hose behind the head somewhere will bring the pressure tester home from work tommorow and see what going on there .

this hot weather in adelaide is taking its toll atm . we have so many people phoning and driving off the street for aircon regass it's running us off our feet good for the boss i supose tho lol

and the funny thing is when its 30 degrees and i turn the a/c on after awile it overheats

if its 25 degrees outside i can turn the a/c on and it wont overheat

but when its 35 and over without a/c it overheats lol..............strangeeeeeee

not strange at all, the AC makes the motor work harder, the air con core in front of the radiator gets hot, and pases the hot air onto the radiator, theres extra heat under the bonnet... all taking its toll on the cooling system. If part of the cooling sys isnt working properly, then it all goes down hill.

well... well... the boys at thommo radiators found that my radiator was leaking pressure on the bottom of the seems

on order is a Just jap aloy radiator hopfuly there good i didnt want to spend 800 bucks for a genuine nissan one

Yeah I've got one of those from fatz.. had two tiny pinprick leaks on the upper front corner (in the welds) which I wasn't very happy about but not much I could do, just put some silicon on them and she'll be right.

I am however having slight over heating problems under certain conditions now that I didn't have before, new thermostat, water pump and radiator cap on their way so I'll put those on before I make any claims about the radiator. Most others have good experiences so I hope that it's the water pump/thermostat/radiator cap that is the cause and haven't wasted money on the radiator.

whooo hoooo all fixed took it for a spin today up the hills with the aircon on it's another stinking hot day in adelaide and the needle sat a fraction just under half and did not move at all . cleaned out rad and new top tank . new thermostate . flush all old coolent out and replace with new total cost around 200 bucks . im as happy as a pig in poo .

found the problem in my sons car why his overheated it has split the turbo water line behind the head looks loke a prick to get at and fix .

bugga he can wait till the weather cools down lol mines fixed thats the main thing lol

i think you would have to get a new cap from nissan i think thats where i would go just to be safe

    • Had a chat to Tony Mamo - he advised that looking at the graph's shape (regardless of number translation) it shouldn't be levelling off like that up top. He said it looks like the car is running a restrictor plate or something of that nature. Luckily the last dyno pull on E85 was saved to the PC - So I did a quick trace of Barometric KPA vs Intake manifold pressure, and lo and behold I see a copy of the 'waves' I was seeing on the dyno: I'm not entirely sure how to go about addressing this. It may be worth sacrificing IAT to run a more direct intake for the motor. Though packaging this could be flat out impossible given the constraints of the car. I should have removed the intake pipe to see if this made a difference but looking at this graph I now have something to potentially test in the future and think about. This one is from an old track day log in the OLD setup going through gears on track.
    • Oh, I forgot too, all the multimedia stuff captured and sold through things like people playing Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go specifically, can actually be traced all the way back to a CIA investment company too. So yep, they're watching everything. Not to mention the new stuff where they've worked out how to use WiFi signals to be able to map occupants inside of a building. That one would be something that I see being more used in public/government buildings, as you need to understand the signals when the room has no one in it first. It's not as easy as Hollywood would like you to think it is.

    • Lets keep this going , Spotted this very stock V35 in Penrith and also saw a nice R32 FLY past me on Castlereagh rd , sounded really good.
    • Great work! Give it a clean up with some Emery paper, and I'd run a thread die over the threads too to clean them up. It will make reinstall much easier, and also life easier for the next time it needs to come out.
