i seriosuly dont get it, like last nite i try to organise a mini meet which involved MCCR, not organised by em but by me and u all run to start screamin "no to MCCR" what up wit that !!!!!

Seriously no matter how bad MCCR seems to get, it is one of the mosty busiest board in Vic, and one that is home to around 3,000 members, sure some r underage heros, but others like me r part of other clubs as well !!!! When SAU go and single out MCCR and show hostility to them what to do u think other car clubs think of us ??????

I want to be in a club that is respected not hated. Ok there r some idiots in there but u cant help that when there is around 3000 members, if u dont like it, dont cruise on the opens, u dont like the forums dont post on their but dont deny the fact that they do a good thing !

Im not anti MCCR nor am i anti SAU, i jus wish that some of u would get off your high horse jus coz u drive a skyline(which is not king of the road by the way) and maybe show a little sportsmanship

If u hav had bad expierences why dont u post up here, maybe we can weed out the truths from the rumours

one thing that pisses me of about the mccr forums is that when some1 like me or some1 less known in the club posts in the tech section asking a question theres maybe a few replys, but when some1 like mark or the admins posts,every1 wants to suck upto him or something and he gets like 100000 posts helping him. Also the cop thing pisses me off, like when they said were inviteing the cops to a open cruise so they can see that we dont do any illegal stuff, and what happends when every1 turns up? Theres like 10 cop cars and a booze bus and they are going through everycar in the parking lot, i was just lucky that my hilux or skyline wasnt there otherwise id be stuffed

sorry mate.. most of them are tossers.. any right minded individual would not be involved with their club. There are plenty of other clubs around, why be involved with one with a bad reputation??

I think unfortunately, MCCR represents what is bad about the import scene, and that is egos causing trouble doing burnouts, known illegal drag racing, other stupid stuff that pisses even many import lovers off themselves and just makes life hard for anybody who is not involved in that area. If they have such a large number of supporters, to me that is actually disappointing if that is what driving a performance car represents.

MCCR does NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING for the car scene in Melbourne. Name one positive thing they have set out to do and achieved that has made a positive difference to improve things ? If anything I'd say they have been more detrimental to the overall opinion of people driving imports: whether skylines or anything else.

They are regularly the annoyance of the police.. they have an arrogant attitude, think they are something more special than they are actually are, are involved in often illegal activities, people involved in their cruises are often involved in accidents, dangerous driving, causing trouble for others on the road, and whatever else.

For instance Saturday night on their so called "open" cruise there was an accident in which some girl ended up in hospital. I'll admit I don't know the full details, but it didn't sound good to me no matter what the circumstances.

MCCR can get ****ed as far as I am concerned..

Hence why i dont go to MCCR opens, what happened wit that accident was Cordia broke down on the far left lane on Prines Hwy outbound of city after the devils bend, several cars came down that same lane, 2 cars got out last one didnt hav time to change and ran into the back of it.

I dont know in the time i've been wit MCCR, often police hav come and after a few words they happily smile and leave, but this is at events where its like 20 or less, sure at the opens they get reamed everytime and righlty so as there r that many hoons and heros at them

I jus dont think that this minority should be blamed for the bad rep that MCCR has, i mean they did raise 2500 for the Royal Childrens Hospital fund, personnaly i havent had a problem wit MCCR as a club, a few ppl yeh but that happens at any club

Maybe im jus too forgivin and havent had any bad luck wit the whole import scene as u guys hav !

And maybe its the friendships that i hav formed wit a few that keeps me comin back

agreed andrew and gord!

my turn

you hear all the bad things that go on... and no doubt the police know of these things also.

eg. Not so long ago thier was a Silva cruise or something of that ddescription.

Police rocked up and started to hassle people.

As soon as the police worked out that they weren't from the MCCR group (which the officers named so they must be the lunchtime topic for TOG) they were happy and left the crew alone.

To me that says a lot about your club.

No other club i know of has a problem with police presence as much as they do.

Not even commodore clubs for crying out loud.

Here at SAU and also over at my home... R31skylineclub.com

I think we can all be proud to say we've never had one problem at all with the police on not ONE cruise.

Yeah they might come through, ask whats going on. We tell them where where are from etc. and that's it.

The police are happy with that as the clubs obviously have never had any issues with the police and they respect that, and in turn we repsect them. It's a two way street. Not a one way drag stipr so to speak.

Yeah they are a big club. Yeah they might have big meets.

The thing is though... they have a lot of negative attention.

Something i don't want, and the vast majority of other people around here dont want or need either.

Some of us have cars with a great deal of mods etc. and the police could bust us stoopid.

But no. Because we are all sensible like genuine car enthusiats... and not hoons. We are fine and can have big meets in public places without problems.

There's nothing worse than having a cruise broken up by police just because they know who you are.

It doesn't do a lot for morale of a club and its members...

I was the one that organised that NissanSilvia cruise, lol. With that situation we were lucky as the cop was ready to get someone, lucky for us we were all understandin and eventually he realised he did hav the wrong facts and left us alone. When askin us about clubs he did mention MCCR in a bad tone. But anyway ask Chopobo what happened to him, coz 30min afte he left us he got Chop for drivin an over powered vehicle.

Anyway i dont wanna bring this issue up as it caused a big fuss within MCCR

My question is hav u got to know the ppl within MCCR, or r u adopting the views of others ?

But i'd like to point out that CCC got shut down coz they were causin havoc at the thurs nite drags and i guess in the eyes of the police MCCR is next. Dont think that we r safe. The police r pretty smart and know what they r doin they r merely eliminating one club at a time.

It is only that MCCR has some ties wit the police that they r not shut down yet, but IF they ever do u can bet that every other club will be targetted !

I havent met any of u guys, but it kinda worries me that u hav such a negative attitude to MCCR, but at the same time i know where u r coming from everyday when i drive my 33 im 5km under the limit, paranoid about any VX/BA behind me, and constantly lookin in my rear view mirror.

Bah i give up, lol im not the spokesman for MCCR, im jus a member thats had good times and if SAU dont wanna associate wit MCCR fair enuff i guess, i jus hope u dont classify me wit the rest of them

lol ... it was you.. :D

but you see what i mean?

and as for the CCC thing. (commodore cruise club is assume)

It's still up.

but there is a LOT more going on behind the scenes there mate.

trust me on that one.

i know the co founder he works at my work and even he left cause they are a bunch of tossers. i dont want to have anything to do with that club and we (the commite) dont want this club to have anything to do with them.

hehe,

i must say a few years ago i attended a few of their cruises... and looking back now i realise now their were many ego's around back then(some ppl were ok).... however by the sounds of all this things have gotten worse in the last couple of years with them...

i can't wait till we have a cruise as i have been hangnig for one for a while but... ill will never resort to attending a mccr one!! again lol :D

mark.

MCCR? Bah!!!

Back when I had the porsche, two idiots pulled up next to me, one in an old BMW with 17's, the other in a laser with a 5'' tip exhaust. Tried to drag me off the lights, barely missed hitting me, DID clip each other and almost hit another car...

One common thing on both the cars? MCCR sticker on the back, enough said :D

This isnt the first time I have spoken about this either...

OHH HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY

I DIDNT SEE THISSSSSSSSSSS THREAD..

OK WHERE DO I START...

lols

nah u all know my stance on mccr

used to be a great club few years ago..

somethings gotten to a few peoples heads in there now

GOD KNOWS WAT!! U AINT GOT NO REASON TO THINK YOUR ALL THAT AND A BIT!

notice i said a few.. some of the admins are tops!! and great people!

yes they have done some good things for worthy causes .. but to every good side theres a bad side.. if only u knew..

i thought by now yoshi u already did???

do i have to drill it into ur head??

take for instance when u posted that thread in their forums about the cops hasseling ur cruise thinking it was an mccr cruise??

as soon as u posted it

it was removed or closed

why because they cant face the truth

and they bring me into it hen i had nothing to do with their ***n forums

they even killed my ***n account!

i get a longg email from mark asking wat was the problem and telling me wat happened in my situation was all a misunderstanding

then i discover my accounts dissapeared>> hmmmm

anyways im over their bullshit

wat goes around comes around

and when a certain few admins cross my path .. then ill deal with it.. otherwise i aint gonna waste my time on em.

heres an example:

-i posted pics on the forum (with the relevant work warnings) of chicks in bikinis

- i get a warning a bimbo admin for posting the pics and my thread gets deleated.

-low and behold not even a few days later the same bimbo who gave me the warning and deleated my thread then decides to post pics of herself on the forums in her bikinis

now if that aint double standard then i dunno wat is.

/me goes back to eating her sub way bikkies

    • Thanks for all the replies fellas. Gonna finish putting it back together and see how it handles the set up. If it starts pinging it’ll be parked.
    • Well, I can recommend the partial AV system translation CD I ordered from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. Whilst it didn't address the date issue, it has conveniently translated on-screen menu items into English, and now allows the GPS-received time to be offset in hours rather than minutes, so I can display Eastern Australian time accurately ( and bump it by another hour when daylight savings starts ).
    • Yuh, if it's 45°C outside, my car is driving in it.
    • I'd be curious to hear more. Otherwise, have you driven a modern x-trail? I wonder how it compares. Here in Australia they are/were popular for rentals and fleet vehicles. I have been in some and my impression was they are bad. But, this may have been very different in the 2000s at a good trim level. Twenty years is plenty of time to make the model worse. I do very much agree with the 2 silver cars in the garage approach. But, not driving because it's too hot would not leave a lot of time in the year for many Australians. I don't think you need to worry too much unless the car has actual issues with overheating.
    • Back again. I returned to Japan in Jul/Aug to spend time with the car on my birthday and remind myself what all the sacrifice and compromise is for. It happened to line up with the monthly morning meet in Okutama, which I have been wanting to go to for a long time. It's a unique event at a unique spot with really rare, interesting, and quirky cars. It's where all the oldheads and OGs gather. The nighttime scene at DKF certainly has its place and should be experienced if you're into cars, but there's too much bad attention and negativity around it now. IMO the better time is Sunday morning at DKF or Okutama; it's more chill and relaxed. I'm glad I was finally able to go, but not sure it's worth the drive from all the way from Nagoya immediately the day before, unless I was already staying in Tokyo for the days right before the meet, because you have to wake up quite early to make it in time. Funnily enough though I didn't drive the car all that much this trip because it was just too damn hot. While there were zero issues and running temps were nominal and the A/C was strong, RBs already run crazy hot as it is. Sure, it took it all like a champ but something about driving these cars in the ridiculous heat/humidity bothers me and makes me feel like I'm asking too much of it. I'm just me being weird and treating the car like a living thing with feelings; I'm mechanically sympathetic to a fault. Instead I was mainly driving something else around - a KX4(silver) 2001 X-Trail GT, that I acquired in May. There's a few different flavors to choose from with Xs, but visually it's the Nissan version of the Honda CR-V. Mechanically it's a whole different story as this, being the top-trim GT, has an SR20VET mated to a four-speed auto and full-time AWD! It was a very affordable buy in exceptional condition inside and out, with very low mileage...only 48k kms. Most likely it was owned by an older person who kept it garaged and well-maintained, so I'm really happy with how it all worked out. It literally needs zero attention at the moment, albeit except for some minor visual touch-ups. I wanted something quirky, interesting, and practical and for sure it handily delivers on all three of those aspects. I was immediately able to utilize the cargo and passenger capacity to its full extent. It's a lot of fun to drive and is quite punchy through 1st and 2nd. It's very unassuming -in the twisty bits it's a lot more composed than one would think at a glance- and it'll be even better once I get better tires on it(yes, it's an SUV but still a little boat-y for my liking). So...now I have two golden-era Nissans in silver. One sports car and one that does everything else; the perfect two-car solution I think👍 The rest of the trip...I was able to turn my stressed brain off and enjoy it, although I didn't quite get to do as much as I thought. I did some interesting things, met some interesting people, and happened into some interesting situations however, that's all for another post though only if people really want to know. Project-wise, I went back to Mine's again to discuss more plans and am hoping to wrap that up real soon; keep watching this space if that interests you. Additionally, while working in the tormenting sweatbox that is the warehouse, I was able to organize most of the myriad of parts that my friend is storing for me along with the cars, and the 34 has a nice little spot carved out for it: And since it can get so stupid hot in there, that made it all the more easy -after I was standing there looking at the car and said 'f**k it'- to finally remove all the damn gauges that have mostly been an eyesore all this time. Huzzah. The heat basically makes the adhesive backing on the gauge mounts more pliable to work with, so it was far less stressful getting this done. I didn't fully clean it up or chase the wiring though; that will happen once I have the car in closer possession. Another major reason to remove all that stuff is to give people less reasons to get in my car and steal s**t while it's being exported/imported when/if the time comes, which leads us to my next point... ...and that is even though it's time in Japan is technically almost up since it's a November car and the X would be coming in March, I'm still not entirely sure where my life and career is headed; I don't really know what the future looks like and where I'm going to end up. I feel there's a great deal of uncertainty with me and as a result of that, it feels like I'm at a crossroads moreso now than any point in my life thus far and there are some choices I need to make. Yes, I've had some years to consider things and prepare myself, however too much has happened in that time to maintain confidence and everything feels so up in the air; tenuous one might say. Simply put, there's just too much nonsense going on right now from multiple vectors. Admittedly, I'm struggling to stay in the game and keep my eyes on the prize. So much so in fact, that very recently I came the closest I ever have before to calling it quits outright; selling everything and moving on and not looking back. The astute among you will pick up on key subtext within this paragraph. In the meantime I've still managed to slowly acquire some final bits for the car, but it feels nice knowing there's not much left to get and I'm almost across that finish line; I have almost everything I'll ever want for my interpretation and expression on what it is I think an R34 should be. 'til later.
