Hey Peeps,

I just seen this in SA section so thought I would ask if anyone from NSW goes or went to 2006 event?

http://www.skylinenationals.com/3294/index.html

Basically like Victorians DECA but with show and shine added and run by someone else..

Event date July 26th-27th 2008, Shepparton VIC

Quite a few of the NSW and ACT R31 faction go...

its a fun event, I went in 06, and I'll be going again this year.

About 8 31's from NSW and ACT went last year... R31's repped well but we had a fairly poor 32+ showing.

This year the Track events will be at Winton.

Agenda is as follows.

Friday Night Welcome Dinner - Venue yet to be confirmed.

Saturday Morning Registration - Function Room, Sundowner Park Lake Motel. Start 8.00 Am, Finish 10.30am.

After Registration head accross the road to show and shine and the Victoria Park Lake. Pricing same as last year. $5.00 to Park, $20.00 to Park and Judge. Lions club will be there again, and so will the merchandise stand. We need 6 people to help with registrations and organising cars for the show and shine. Cars must be parked by 11am. This event will go until 4pm.

Saturday night is your to do what you want, same as last year.

Sunday.

Winton Sprints and regularity events. Will be checking whether we can have drift. but this IS NOT likely. We will be hiring Flaggies and Marshalls, so your input is limited. Lions club will be there with the hot food again, as well as the merchandise tent.

This event is going to be very expensive to run. You will require either a CAMS L2 or a AASA Licence to compete at Winton. AASA Licences will be available on the day for weekend pass pricing. (Price to be confirmed).

To get this event paid for, we are looking for some early bird payments.

To compete at Winton,

Payment by the 31st January 2008, $135.00

Payment by the 31st March 2008, $150.00

Payment by the 15th July 2008, $165.00

Payment on the day $190.00.

There's some incentive to get in early. There will only be 60 spots for this event. All model Nissans/Datsuns are welcome.

I would definately be up for something like this if its on this year.EDIT- july

Do you need a cams license?

You need Cams for Winton for sure and the DECA motorkhana event I think you would need one.

Its only $88 for the year and you just fill out the form, but you do need to be a member of a cams affiliated club like SAU NSW

Aww thanks, I like it!

You live close and know Brad and Jeff dont you

I do.I remember Brad telling me about the little damage on that rear quarter.Who would of thought someone would run into the same spot? Some people have all the luck. :D

LOL I know what you mean!

Have you gone to Skyline Nationals before or even a DECA??

No, but heard so many good things about DECA last year that I was insanely jealous and plan to go this year. I'm guessing the Nationals will be similar?

Yeah DECA is the bomb!! They do 4 a year at same complex as where the Nationals are getting held..The SAU Vics organise that ;) Im going to atleast one this year!!

Not sure what the nationals will be like but sure it will be good even if it is freezing! :)

you can also get an AASA pass for the weekend, which alot of blokes did in 2006 - I think they were around $60... might be a bit more this year, kind of pointless seeing the cost of a CAMS licence tho :)

here is a pic from the show n shine... weather was perfect.

    • A few little updates that weren't filmed due to not taking long to do or not interesting enough for their own video. My new K&N Air Filter arrived, I went with an RU-4180 which matched the dimensions of the universal cone filter the car originally had.  The battery had gone flat, while that was charging I tidied up the spaghetti wiring at the bulk head and down the sides of the engine Next job was to swap the stereo The Kenwood harness had the female ISO plugs cut off and the male ISO plugs cut off the adaptor loom and joined with bullet connectors. I ordered in a repair loom through work and re-did it all. New Kenwood unit installed (Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth, Reverse Camera) The bonnet/hood gas struts have been poor since collecting the car. I couldn't find any suitable replacements locally so took a chance on a pair from AliExpress.  The originals don't use a retaining clip to secure the cup onto the ball fixture, would explain why I struggled for 10-15mins trying to pry off the cups. The ball fixtures unscrew using a 12mm spanner, new ones are the same size. Sadly no photo of them fitted, you're not missing much lol The dished Momo steering wheel got replaced with my Momo Tuner, turns out I ordered counter sunk bolts for the horn trim ring (like they normally are for the steering wheel) instead of allen cap (flat seat)  A terrible photo of a Quaife style gear shift knob I've had stashed in my tool box for many years after purchasing the incorrect thread size (I can see a pattern emerging with ordering incorrect parts...) Also threw in a cup holder and a (empty) Boss Coffee can, because why not
    • GT-R clearly the better choice! The 300 is certainly not insaly fast but has a decent amount of poke. Does a nice little drift around the corners with a decent amount of throttle. It's VERY predictable in a slide too.  Feels so progressive! People probably presume there's a 25 year old driving it based on my behaviour this week! 🤣
    • Yeah Jap import. Fairlady Z then! I'm a bit the same.  They've been on my radar for a fair while but then just impulsively decided to buy one!  Was going to just buy an NA and add turbos to it later but decided to save the f'ing around and just buy the turbo version.
    • Thanks mate, well done to you too! Yeah not looking forward to doing any major work to it!
