mine is doing the same thing but i havn't driven it up t0 20psi. it just dont seem right i back off when the boost is around 18 psi, seeing as your motor hasnt blown yet i might flat stick it tongiht see what boost it will run and how it runs.

Not before the finish line :D

The other car will have the beers open an waiting for you, while you wait for boost :domokun:

lol.. i was told that the turbo will free up after a month or so of driving and turbo will spool up alot quicker say around 2500rpm :P

 Whoever told you that is full of crap. Sorry to say, you have been had, if you are expecting that to happen.

For the amount of boost you use (stress on the engine) and the power/response it makes, the turbo is just not worth it.

yeah you dif wont be gettin that kind of response no way lol

im just waiting 1 day for mine 2 shit itself lol one day, but it was re ringed bout 12months ago and done 20,000kms since then.... on 19psi pretty much daily

has vapour blow by but no oil, but wot motor doesnt have blow bye? lol

hahah ok. but stop getting excited about a stock car that sucks balls to no i might have problem disposing of them! i got this turbo free so who cars :P

mine has just been re ringed aswell mate, who does your tuning and wat computer you running??

its actually caused by the exhaust housing/wastegate design. if u look at where the wastegate gases come out you'll see it hits a wall and has to turn 90 degrees to join the main flow out the turbine. this causes way too much backpressure so gas would not flow out the wastegate just the turbine. hence the rising boost. seen it happen with many of these cheap integral wastegate turbos.

Hey mate, I just blew up a kkr480! On 20 psi, Now running a 560 and its overboosting also. Its hitting 23-24 pounds which is ridiculous! Not sure what to do either? Needs a re tune, im using a blitz electronic boost controller and when i turn it down it still goes way past the set 20 psi... It sucks!

Good luck keep me posted on what you do...very interesting!

Thanks Joey

need a external wastegate might help other option bin it the money you have now spent on kkr rubbish you would have had a good turbo

correct me if im wrong lowrb but ur engine blew up a lil while back and u live in bundaberg right

yes i cracked 4 piston ring lands bout 12 months ago, running a slide highflow 18psi and stock ecu lol

but since re ringed motor and done nearly 20,000kms on 19-20psi daily... mmmm lol hit 1.5 bar last nite prob blow soon haha

motor loves it lol

remember me sbr33 from the bay lol

i guess there is only so much power stock turbo will push out, kkr430 or 480 will push more power then a factory turbo anytime or day so i dunno wats the go with the lies? lol

Lies that a car with no respsonse (only mildy more power) will beat a car with not too far off power and a wide powerband

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
