That's because you still have to put in effort at the gym and cycle properly to make something big out of it. If you're going to use them, it should be a plateau breaker once you've achieved most of what you can naturally. I have nothing against people on gear, but people using it from the start = joke.

Don't know what to make of those blokes you see though, that have an impressive upper body but chicken legs, and you'll see em when you come in and then when you're about to leave they are still doing what they were doing 45 min ago, i.e. doing curls with 12kg dumbbells, chatting away to their mates, or posing in front of the bathroom mirror.

Good genetics I suppose; push a needle, lift stuff-all weight, and still get 'big' without doing the real hard yards.

I must admit, if i didnt already have a heart condition I would consider getting on roids. I dont like the idea of staying on them for long periods of time. but I know that once I started seeing real good results i'd be hooked on them.

Agree with TTT's comments, people who pop pills especially really shouldnt throw stones.

The reason I don't have anything against it is because it's just another level of supplementation in my eyes, not unlike protein shakes and energy boosters. Is it just because the latter is much more incremental in producing results? Nitrous oxide receives the same bad rap from the modified cars community, meanwhile E85 / water injection / turbos / superchargers are all fair game because the results aren't as dramatic and "easy" to obtain...double standards much?

don't understand why you'd spend your hard earned on gear if your not competing at an elite level... but then again I don't know why people who don't compete spend money on supplements (just my opinion and yes I know I'm in the minority here)

plus most guys on the gear look bloated and ridiculous... if your just in it for aesthetics muscle obtained quickly has a puffiness/softness to it... when you see the truly strong guys who have been training for years they look like they've been carved out of stone... like they'd be at home in the dark ages, swinging a battleaxe at some poor chumps head... not like some puffed up, weak ass, poser, who looks so top heavy a stiff breeze would blow them over... and they wouldn't be able to get up because they'd just done 3 hrs of bicep curls and couldn't move their arms

yeah, but if you work out to have a nice bod for the ladies, I can understand why you would want to speed up the process from age 18 through to mid to late 20s.

Pretty much what I said above. A lot of the puffiness would depend on what they're on though and what phase they're in; those guys are probably just holding a lot of water. Generally from my understanding most gear will cut you up as well as adding mass. One issue though is that gear will result in a lot of muscle growing all over the body not necessarily in the 'correct' or classic proportions (if that is of any concern, which to the typical user it probably isn't). E.g. Delts and traps will grow significantly larger than a size that is achievable without assistance; these muscle groups are designed to be a relatively small. While genetics will play a part in determining one's muscular proportions (as well as imbalances in the routine), shoulder and traps are one area that is commonly used to spot a user at a glance

Wouldn't you wanna see how far you can take your body naturally first? I gather from this that your motivation for working out is insecurity rather than enjoyment... those who sit tight through the journey appreciate the destination most... If you were to take gear now I guarantee you would start to slack off in the gym because you'd feel you've reached were you wanna be "so what now?"

I have absolutely nothing against roids and have friends who are on them/have taken them. The only thing that irritates me is if you start to puff your chest out like William Large-Penis and claim bragging rights for your "hard work"

Well I guess the public consensus is much the same for both, use nitrous oxide and your car will blow up, use steroids and your genitals will shrink / organ failure.

Personally, I could think of nothing more satisfying than knowing you can bat with the guys who take gear when you've never touched it in your life.

I was also kind of shocked to learn a couple of years ago that "natural" bodybuilding, in terms of competing, doesn't mean you've never done it...just that you've been off it long enough for the tests not to pick up on it :/

This is why I want to compete in the fitness model category, at least it's not about muscle size in that shit.

    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻

I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
