I've simply given up on deadlifts indefinitely. I'm not a power lifter, I give no f**ks for them if it's just going to consistently end in crippling pain. Sure, it's more than likely just incorrect form - but what it breaks down to is it being easier to just not do them any more lol.

I find SLDL easier on my back personally, I assume that lanky legs makes the set up and lift off portion harder to do safely/easier to stuff up, perhaps wide stance is a better choice?

I will stick with SLDL as I just find it that bit safer for me and my obvious back weakness/poor form.

I used to think this way, was happily doing sets of 10x120kg on stiff leggeds...thought it was decent and was happy because regular deadlift form seemed retarded to me; I just couldn't do it; couldn't get the bar past my knees easily etc. Then one day I reset my form to try off the ground...starting with like 70kg. You get use to it quickly. Have since far surpassed what I was doing on stiff leggeds. Such a better exercise! I never ended up dizzy after stiffs; after off the ground I want to faint...

Yeah I've given up on Bench in that sense.

Haven't benched in like 2 months until yesterday when I went in to test openers for this weekends comp.

I managed 100kg which was ok'ish speed.. enough to open on.

My previous best in comp was 110kg,,

lol.

Yeah shoulder and elbows.

My point is, I have/had a weak bench. so I benched more. this hurt my shoulder/scap.. So I started doing more chins and rows and scap stuff to strengthen the opposite side of chest, this gave me elbow issues (tennis and golfers elbow)... so I gave up on it.

Didn't bench, row or chin for 2 months.

I'm 6kg less than when I benched 110 and then benched 100. Will probably get 105 on the weekend.

All I really care about right now is to get my squat up as it is the one lift giving me the least grief.

States this weekend then Nationals in June. If I don't get any NEW pains I'll be happy.

Fair enough, I think you have different goals than me, and likely others, so us avoiding a lift is less detrimental than it might be for you.

Especially in my case where it's purely for a combination of not looking like a 60kg IT desk jockey and general health and well being.

My goal was to lose fat, strengthen my legs after I got them operating correctly, mobilise my body from shift work numbing it to a point where I couldn't be bothered doing anything and to do it in as little time as possible.

Within a month i realised I'm not a fan of spending hours in a gym.

Efficiency at becoming the strongest I can in the most efficient ways, whilst achieving fat loss and muscle gain.

I didn't switch to these after a month, I just realised how so many people around me are forever in the gym not seeming to change, shape, size, strength

you wonder why they keep coming back... I guess it does help you feel good after a day at work... but for the time, money and energy spent I want more than just a bit of a buzz

What's to say they aren't just maintaining general fitness or recovering from an injury and doing physio, let alone doing it purely for enjoyment.

Being in the gym for any reason is better than someone putting strain on the public health care system due to poor health when it can be helped.

Easy for me to say though when these people aren't getting in my way.

My point exactly nick. Going through the same old motions, doing same old weights.

I wouldn't spend money on upgrades for my car for it to be the same as it was.

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
