Dani Boi
Should only really do that if doing atg. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/451/#findComment-7046445 Share on other sites
No Crust Racing
I was trying to go ATG as in calves touching hammys, basically as low as I can go, I find that easier than stopping half way down or a bit below parralell which feels like it would be a heap of pressure on the knees. -FIGJAM-
Maybe you also need to do some mobility exercise to opeb your hips and what not ip for squats Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/451/#findComment-7046449 Share on other sites
No Crust Racing
I stretch daily, hip flexors, itbs, lower back, hammies etc. I am considering getting a podiatrist to do a gait analysis on me and see how uneven my mechanics are now. -FIGJAM-
been to a chiropractor? my little brother had a back issue when he was younger, turned out his hip was out of place slightly resulting in one leg being longer then the other. No Crust Racing
Not yet, considering it though. Current physio has me doing nerve glide/mobility exercises but after paying close attention during stretching etc I feel as though it's coming from the lower back. -FIGJAM-
might be worth a chiro visit. I get issues with mine every now and then from bad posture and the likes. Go roughly once a year and get the back cracked and im good. Even though you stretch etc. daily, do you feel you're making any significant progress? Maybe you need to review what you're doing if it isn't effective? Buy starting strength or something that explains technique in depth, that way you can refer to it whenever you're in doubt to coach yourself. No Crust Racing
Easier to just go and see Matt again. All I need to know is if the butt should be rounding in under/tucking under naturally or whether that should be avoided. L33SH
I'm not sure if this will answer your question Dan, but I think these videos are worth a watch anyway. I watched them last night as I'm having an issue with my knee bending in during squats. It's a five part series called 'So you think you can squat' Here's a link to the first one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200767-gym-and-supplement-discussion/page/451/#findComment-7046809 Share on other sites

I reckon that's a good idea.I dont think It's natural to the squat, you're not squatting any lower, you're just pushing your arse down. That's my guess. I'll let someone in the know answer. No Crust Racing
Just watching Pt1 now, that guy describes my technique closely, butt tucking under, pressure moving forward. onto the toes.
