RusH_
from what i understand 3 - 3 1/2 inch is optimal for performance with out reducing torque too much... correct me if im wrong Edited January 9, 2008 by RusH_ Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200790-how-big-is-ur-exhaust/#findComment-3571583 Share on other sites

mr. kirisaki
Loud is alright... what I really like is when the tone is low. LOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW FTW. But it'd only be low on low revs Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200790-how-big-is-ur-exhaust/#findComment-3572168 Share on other sites

adam-__-
Mines 3" turbo back as far as I know, but I have a feeling it's 3" from turbo to cat and 4-4.5" for the rest. It doesn't pull the chicks cause it's got a silencer stuck in it. VashR31
depends if its NA or forced induction... If you think your rb25de with a 4 1/2 cannon cuts sik with more power... Then tempe has your next set of wheels. NA Needs to flow but not as much as a forced ind. motor. 2.5" - 3" max for NA. Samon
depends if its NA or forced induction...If you think your rb25de with a 4 1/2 cannon cuts sik with more power... Then tempe has your next set of wheels. NA Needs to flow but not as much as a forced ind. motor. 2.5" - 3" max for NA. As VashR31 said... with NA you *can* have too big an exhaust. 2.25 - 2.5" is the largest you want to go... after that you start to loose power down low. I had a 3" JASMA turbo exhaust on my NA 33 when I got it... put a 2.5" custom setup on it and it's got a noticeable torque increase down low in the rev range. For a turbo however, the backpressure is generated by the turbo itself... after that you want as much flow as possible. On a turbo you could run 6" all the way from the turbo, straight out and it would go beautifully... and be freaking loud! In reality though, anything larger than 3.5" is just for show... sure it won't do any harm to performance but it'll drone like buggery and be way too loud... not to mention defectable Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/200790-how-big-is-ur-exhaust/#findComment-3573612 Share on other sites
