Hey guys, in the last few days I have noticed a clunking noise coming from my rear left. Im not 100% but it sounds like its coming from around the wheel area so Im wondering if perhaps the shock absorber is dieing? Can't say that ive noticed any loss in handling feel but thats not saying much. Its whenever I go over any bumps I can hear it and It seems to be getting worse each day. What are the symptons of a stuffed wheel bearing?

I tried searching for symptons of a worn shock and the few topics I read seem to have me thinking thats the problem.

Oh well if its that then its a good excuse to finally get SK's suspension package. Better get saving.

Theres no where around me at the moment where I can get that done, Im up the coast at the moment and am this afternoon doing a 5 1/2 hour drive home. If its just the shock im not too concerned but I would hope the wheel isn't going to like....fall off mid drive

To check the shocker, simply "bounce" the corner of the car. The car should stop bouncing within about 1.5 bounces.

Have you checked the wheels nuts?

Grab the wheel and try and shake it - up / down, side to side. You might need to jack the car to check fully.

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?

    • Yep four point harness. Mounted to a bolted in brace running behind the seats. Dont use it for daily driving tbh but good to have for when its needed plus it looks cool.
