nick33gtr
I found this photo whilst searching on a Japanese site. The japlish to go with it... "Designed to be symmetrical with the main engine. Toward the bottom left is the air-cooled oil cooler. Rainer scrap iron, aluminum is employed by the boa. nice 28
That's looks crazy. Anyone know why they used two intercoolers, rather than one large one (thus giving it a larger surface area)? djr81
That's looks crazy.Anyone know why they used two intercoolers, rather than one large one (thus giving it a larger surface area)? Because it makes the plumbing simpler & the cooling from the intercoolers is the same for each bank of the motor. Notice the interccolers are mounted sideways.... Just attach some quick release locks on the mounts and a single clip on the loom for easy removal. d00dz
Is that an oil cooler on the left? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/201934-r35-gtr-engine-photograph/#findComment-3609468 Share on other sites
mad082
yeah oil cooler on the left. only thing i find interesting, is that you'd think that having the intercoolers like that would slow the intake air speed down a bit compared to a fmic type cooler, as the air travels into the cooler then has to do 2 90 degree turns before it exits.
