From what I know, the GTt and GT coilovers should be the same. GTR's different. So if you've got a GT and can only find GTt coilovers, they should be fine. Even four door and two door, they should be the same if they're both GT/GTt. If you've got a GT4, either four door or two, you should get GTR coilovers.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Edit: Don't listen to what I just said. It's wrong... :)

So u guys reckon GTT using the same shock/ coilover as GTR 33/34?

Im new to R34 GTT sedan

They will fit, but they won't "work". With close to 200 kgs more weight over the front wheels R33/34GTR front spring and damper rates are just not suitable for a 2WD. Then you have the rear, a 2 door coupe is hardly the same as a 4 door sedan.

Cheers

Gary

coilovers for gtt's are different to the gt's. the fronts will fit ok but the rears require different length. If you cant find set of coilovers for the gt, maybe speak to SydneyKid about an altenative setup

lol sorry I just read that SydneyKid said similar thing

The R33/34 and Stagea S1 and S2 rear shocks are all the same length as are S14 and S15 Silvias.

The R34GT has bushes at the lower mount on the rear shock like R33GTST and S1 Stagea autos

The R34GTT has a fork the lower mount on the rear shock like R33/34GTR, S2 Stagea manuals and 260RS

Cheers

What about the 4-Door, Can some one sum it all up...

IE.

R34 GT-* (2 Door) =

R34 GT-* (4 Door) =

R34 GT-t, GTR Ect. (2-Door) =

R34 GT-t, GT-X (4-Door) =

I Guess the Q I'm asking is are the 2 & 4 Doors the same; also are there any differences between RWD and AWD?

The R34 GTT 2 dr & 4 dr has the same suspension setup. However for the R34GT (Na) they uses a different one probably a R33Gts type for the rear only. The reason is one of our mates has the GT NA and he has to get a different type than the GTT.

R34 GT (2 Door) = Eye Eye

R34 GT (4 Door) = Eye Eye

R34 GT-t (2-Door) = Eye Fork

R34 GT-t (4-Door) = Eye Fork

R34GTS4 (2 door) = Eye Eye

R34GTS4 (4 door) = Eye Eye

R34GTR (2 door) = Eye Fork

The spring and damper rates are different for 2 doors and 4 doors, as they should be.

The 4wd's have shorter front shocks to fit the driveshafts in.

  • 4 weeks later...

Im looking at getting coilovers for my r34 GT (2 door, non turbo).

So following this information, the GT-T coilovers wont work.

Does anybody know where abouts i can get some to suit a GT, as i only seem to be able to find them for the turbo model.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
