starlet GT engines are awesome little things. I have one in a mini (old schooler), its not running yet. A couple of people in Aus are have them in minis and running 12sec passes out of the box.... For sure they SNAP my skyline

DRP-OOF - why are you posting in a thread about starlets then?

Monkey - I'm comfortable on my horse..

you two lesbians need to chill out.

Cause I have shit to say... and again, you're defending yourself... stop arcing up so much...

and heaps creative on the letter there... my plates were actually 'modified' once with white-out and a pen :P

So you're not the first...

there is no "factory" supercharged/turbo starlets.

I'm sure it's doable, but would be a lot of money for nothing.

I'm assuming you have the aus delivered shopping trolley version.

you can turbo charge that..

or engine conversion from the jap spaec EP82 starlet which has the 4e-fte turbo 100kw engine.

Sydneykid had once mentioned that he knew of someone who had shoehorned a sivler top 20 valve 4age in to one.

those motors are 118kw I think..

was apparently a bit of fun to throw around.

FYI to the above - there are starlet GT's - turbo from the factory...

i was thinking about buying a turbo stalet a while back. they do a low 15 second 1/4 stock, so a few mods like exhaust, cooler, and more boost and you should be into the low 14's pretty darn easy, and still have a car that you can park in the trolley bay at coles.

thats it hey, can be a nice quick commuter!!

I should have typed that as supercharged+turbocharged.

I initially thought the OP was asking to supercharge his already turbo starlet.

as in, I thought he had a Starlet GT which he also wanted to supercharge.

like twin charge.

trd lsd

full exhaust

fuel reg

fuel pump

dont know bout you guys but for those mods thats pretty dam quick. cheap awesome little car in my opinion

that was the $5K I was refering to.

got it from Dale? (10secrx7)

he has/had a upgraed package of:

manifold

TD04

Microtech and tune

and a few other bits.

was under $5K from memory and pretty much gave a power/weight to run a 12.xx

then it was a matter of driver ability and traction.

"When threads turn bad..." haha

I rem when my cousin got me into cars, mid 90's. KE Corolla's, Cordia's, NA Rotary's were the bread&butter. 11sec Sigma turbos would eat you, and in cabin, screwdriver tweaked Microtechs was NASA stuff.

Ahh the good ole pre-adolescent 90's; wet dreams, women and umm... worcestershire sauce.

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
