tru tru but with a lil bit of work and less than $50 u can make ur can extremly hard/impossible to drive off in. Sure if some1 does break into your car they will probly leave with stereo and you have to deal with broken windows etc, but you can still drive home

flame thrower alarm ftw

Nice, can't say they don't deserve it.

Also, where can I find these kill switches? Been googling them and can't even find info on how they work let alone someone who sells them.

Thanks.

$500 shit box, great for driving on curbs, hitting speed bumps at 120km/h, and playing bumper cars on the freeway (Mate actually did this!!). Also good for parking in dodgy areas, and petrol is cheaper as well.

you would have to either work at the place for a very long time, or live very far away, before you started to save money on fuel considering the $500 initial investment, not to mention insurance, rego, and repairs on a second car

kill_switch.jpg

this is a kill switch. basically u connect the battery...THRU this switch. when u turn the switch off. u kill the circuit.

but hide it better than ^^^^this eh.

its basically a "master switch". all the power runs THRU it. and when u turn it off it breaks the circuit. hence no power

yea some are like that, most i have seen they just pull out, like a key, mount one in your fuse box under bonnet and when you park somewhere dodgy jus pop the hood pull the pin/key and walk away.

ps. That flamethrower alarm.... haha that would be awesome haha

autobarn,

switch,relay and terminals.

i actually got the swtches and relays form jaycar on logan road at underwood...

im actually half way thru doing this now... i started it yesterday but i forgot to bring my crimpers home from work so i can finish it... DAMMIT!!!

all ive used is

2 x 4-Pole relays (with bases and relay clips)

2 x small red switches

1 x small black push button

small strip of din rail

and some multi-core cable from work

ive wired it up as such so that to start the car... there is a main switch (1) that must always remain on (unless u never wanna start the car) :D another switch (2) that must remain on... and a push button (3) that is used to allow the car to start... if (2) is not switched in the on position then pressing (3) wont allow the realys to hold in and the car cannot be started... but if (2) is in the on position, then by pressing (3) the relays will latch closed, allowing the car to be started...

im using the relays to cut some of the wires to the ecu...

also, being an electrician has helped me... lol

ill post some of the photos ive taken so far later on today... im on my laptop atm and they're on me other computer...

some photots so far as promised...

nice work, I did something similar minus the extra switches, out of curiosity which wires did you break from the ecu? I ended up doing the fuel pump relay but wanted to kill the ignition or afm but couldnt find the right wires I tried a couple (using ecu pinout diagram) but got annoyed at cutting wires and the engine still able to run. I also wired mine so that the relays can only be energised once the alarm is turned off and the ignition turned on and when the car is turned off the relays unlatch

    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.

    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, much easier to work with it now it's free!
    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
