Has anyone got any more details about this person?

He took $400 from me for a PS3 on boostcruising.

Have you had any help from the mods on that particular forum?

When I alerted some mods via PM about one of his (then newly posted) ads on there, I got absolutely no response at all.

And last time I looked, that ad were still there, only now you can read posts from ppl who have since been ripped off.

None of the above helps you very much, and I really do hope you manage to get your money back (if not punish the bastard)... but it just cheeses me off that forums like that do not seem to be policed a little better.

it dosnt help when we have a known bad traders list on this forum that never gets updated, i know of two known bad traders that the mods also know about but they have not bothered to put them on the list, in fact the list has not been updated in the last year.

Nah mate, not much help.. After a couple weeks they gave me IP details and other names used, but he is still active and trading under other names (they know this).

The name on there I did business with was skyRIDER.

I recommended people forward their experience onto the Fraud squad. with all documents of proof (I will post details up soon).

surley there is someone out there in the banking, ISP or phone business who can assist to track this person down. Please PM me, all information strictly kept confidential. no police involved.

I'm going to get the Asian triads involved.... but on a serious note, I agree... this forum should be policed a bit better... its so casual that people can get a way with these things!

I have actually been intouch with the Copper I reported it too and he said that the forum Mods havent been much help actually none at all as they would not reply to his emails so I wonder do the mods really want to catch these guys....

Cmon mods Please

That really isnt good at all :)

Being a mod can be a thankless task etc etc - but if a mod isnt willing to make the effort - especially on something serious like this - then don't be a mod any more I say.

At least you got some cooperation I suppose... good luck with it mate, keep posting about it here and there as often other people have come across the same guy elsewhere and can help join the dots.

Looks like I just saved myself $180 because I read a post on Usenet (not even a web based forum) about somebody with a particular bank account ripping people off, not car related at all. So it all helps.

Touch wood in my hundreds of online deals I havent been ripped off - yet!

Good luck!

  • 3 weeks later...

I think I have just been ripped off by this guy too. Bought an iphone from him on Boostcruising and never received it. I googled his phone number and it came up with this thread.

His details are:

Account No: 220715, BSB: 032349

Name: Jake Romano

He says he is in Adelaide but his account suggests NSW.

If anyone has a address for this guy or any details let me know, hope we catch this guy.

Yeah i too got ripped off awhile back and reported it to a few of the Mods and got no reply at all. Seems to make me think the mods are the crooks. :)

i find this funny the moderators dont want a vigilanty group to go to this guys house but they wont assist the police in their investigations....these are your members and your essentially protecting a pos who has ripped off numerous people

and thumbs down to the cops quick to do you for speeding or something wanky like not indicating when changing lanes but when it comes to something where they cant make money suddenly theirs nothing they can do about it or its a waste of resources

I think the mods here are much like the cops, they say they will do something but really dont give a shit, there is also a known bad traders thread which i believe is ONLY there to cover sau's arse so at the end of the day they can say they do something about fraudulent activities on this forum but at the end of the day since they never update it then its as usefull as tits on a bull.

its not even as if they need to do much to at all, after all i know me and candy33 have msg'd mods about the guys that have ripped us off and im guessing everyone else has as well.

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way.
