Just scored myself a GT35/40 from an XR6 Turbo, was wanting to know if anyone has fitted it to there R33 RB25DEt. What sort of modes were needed to fit this to your car? Already have a FMI, 3" exhaust, Splitfire coils, pod filter and Haltech ECU, also planning to get pump, injectors and regulator. Any suggestions on which of these i should get will be great and websites to look at. Have got 200kw ATW from stock turbo and modes with 10psi, can anyone estimate what i can expect to get without doing damage to bottom end?

i have one.

u will need... a hi mount...good luck with a low mount :S

dump pipe,

wastegate, preferably 48mm

braided lines.

u will need to change crossover pipe to accommodate the hi mount, or go a greddy plenum.

u wont need a ecu if u want to putt around.

u can use stock injectors.

note* bottom 2 are only for a short period of time at minimal throttle.

theres a bit of debate, i was told it was a 600hp turbo. but on your setup 300kw to 350kw would be achievable

nengun.com is a good site.....but post is a bit slow

Hi,

More then a few people have put a XR6 3540 onto their stock motor. Only last week there was a guy playing with rear housings.

As for sites and locations for the information you need, SAU is one such place. You just need to locate the information.

Id think you can made the 300rwkw on ~1bar that every one else makes on a stock motor.

Cheers

This was covered mid-late last year mate

And another GT35 thread

Exact same thread, with exact same questions

Enjoy the reading as there are a few threads linked in there also with some extra information.

cheers

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
