make sure you keep the pressure on the paul bloke. He could be blowing steam up your rear end to not have to deal with it and blow you off. We are rather desperate for the shaft as customers car is sitting on second hoist needding this to finish it off.

Hey Andrew whats the story...

Are they trying to charge $300 for the freight delivery from the states??? Cause thats a crock bullsh#t. I get heaps of stuff imported from the states to Japan and theres no way it would be that much. Whats the go?

I`m not gettinng up ya, just reckon we need this bloke to either give a definitive answer and get the things sent. I need it soon as, car goes back in for more mods 6/10/08 and final tune.

Just letting you know payment was made on the 23 June 08 and now its 26 September 08. Thats a quarter of the year and still going. Its not your fault Andrew but i have a bad feeling this is not going to get better, if the US dollar changes its going to get worse and as far as i am concerned if i was ACPT i would not be giving in to cheaper freight, as I can guarantee they would have a figure included in the freight for their time for prepping the shafts to send off, packaging etc. I think we bite the bullet pay the difference that way it is definate and they will have to honour their service by sending them off asap. The longer this goes on the worst it is going to get, well thats how i feel about this situation. They are a large corporation who could more than likely care less whether a few Australian people are annoyed. They have money in their possession already and still holding the goods with no incentive to move them on without balancing their books to the change in the dollar. Think about it.

Yeah I agree.

Lets just sort out what needs to be paid and get them on the way. They still work out to be cheap, they are over $3000 aussie here in japan.

Right on. Either way we are still getting a good deal. I'm sure Andrew is doing his best, we just need to be a bit more patient...I'm sure they aren't far away.

I'm going to throw a party when its all over!! :P

nothing to report as of yet.. i pray this week we will get something positive!

andrew you better be running around chanting to the gods to get something to happen. I emailed Paul and he is just dodging answering my questions about sending the shaft off... something isnt right.

He's probably only wants to deal with one person...here's hoping anyway

i asked him directly to send my shaft off as it is needed for a customer, stating have spoken to andrew and that andrew knew i was going to contact him in regards to get it sent off asap. dodged answering and blew me off... "waiting to hear back from acpt any day now." that was his response

He is like that eh, haha i trust that everything is ok, as i have copies of emails sent from james also. and james has sent me some too. i do really hope the shipping problem is resolved quickly tho! it sure it taking a while!

I actually only started drinking beer in the last few months. so its a possibility its on the cards now haha

Hey Paul, That is correct Apparently its taking some time for James to get a quote from usps.

from what i can see. usually Paul(sts) gets alloy shafts from california for around 120-130 a piece.

we had included in our deal 300 worth of shipping.

if we can get that screwed down correctly 12x160ish $1900us in savings that will offset the exchange problem.

So it has taken almost a month to get a quote from USPS? You have to agree that is pretty pathetic. I have ordered full carbon kits for my M3 back in the day from the USA without a month delay... Someone needs to get their finger out overseas and finish the deal, I can see ACPT just delaying us in order for us to give in and pay the difference. They have control of the deal as they already have partial payment and the goods which makes no sense for them to go shopping for cheaper freight. I am pretty sure they have charges in the $300 freight which is for their time of prepping the packages etc which they wouldnt want to do for less as it messes their mark up.

Yep I agree with you. I get alot of different stuff sent to and from the states and usually takes a day or 2 tops to get a quote from UPS or FEDEX if not faster. $300 for freight and packaging seems pretty steep to me. I just had a 95 kilo of freight on a pallet come in from the States and that was only $185 US but thats to Japan.

Right now I`d rather get a definitive answer and pay the difference if need be and get the bloody thing in my car! The aussie dollar excahange will only get worse. Think we`re getting the run around. I say lets get it all locked up one way or the other and get the units delivered.

another thing with the dollar dropping and the current market drop yesterday we are looking at more than the expected difference, it will become more as time goes on. I think just pay the difference, dont keep good feedback towards ACPT and be done with it. Sooner we get this over and done with the easier life is going to be for everyone. We are past 3 months now even with the shafts ready to be sent for over a month... Not good.

    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
    • What ECU are you running? This is probably the biggest question. If it's a PowerFC, I'd probably change the ECU and get something newer that will handle the injectors in a nicer way.
