I think it's one of those catch-22 scenarios. Tough sh!t with this one. Either smash the lazy owner and risk more stress or bite your lip and polish it out (which i think was a realistic choice).

I've got numerous claw marks on my Skyline from the hoardes of cats that roam around my house and slide down the fenders. My cat is a little sIut. I can't do sh!t about it though.

I've also washed my car and noticed, "hmmm, a massive key mark along the passenger door...where did that come from?" Well some wanker did it, but again it's tough sh!t.

I'm with Modena, it would be a lot more than a scratched panel if you tried to kill the dog.

Take it out on the owner, NOT the dog.

And no, I'm not suggesting you hang the owner, just sort it out with him.

i like dogs, so i agree, but hang the owner anyway for good measure.

on the other hand i don't like cats, want to borrow a .22?

In my experience, most owners of pit bulls and staffies are bogans with attitude. Some guys are allright but its usually the minority.

They are also careless with their dogs... I had one guy let his dog go in the middle of the road so I had to slam on my breaks and my car nearly went sideways... when I looked at him with "WTF?" expression, he just looked at me and kept walking... d&^%head...

hey dude sorry to hear dog claws are a bitch of a thing for scratching paint.... i got a few when i parked my R round the back and my malamute wanted to see over the fence so used my car as his way up! :) buffed and buffed but u can still see em

good luck neway

u called it square jus cos he 'says' it wont happen again...as if...he doesnt care....he would have let the dog do it again if it had the chance....i would have been out of the car and ripped the dog apart....or jus ran over it and then gone 'meh, deserved it'!

Thats is just cruel......... i would just walk to the owner.

you should take your dog or a mates dog for a walk get the dog to jump all over the car then when he comes out pissed just smile and say dont worry mate it'll buff right out

too bad the guy probly owns a battered EA thats already got more probs than a few scratches. good idea though.

i was driving home last night with mate (about 1:00am) when i aproached a speed hump and saw a staffie looking dog on the road. As i stopped this moron of a dog decides to jump on my front bar and just stares at me. it then ran around to my side of the car and thought about jumping up so i start trying to drive off and it runs to the front of the car again and dissapeared. So as i start to creep over the speed hump the dog shows up on the passenger side and jumps onto my guard and then my door at which point i cracked the shts and dialled in x amount of revs and got out of there. The most frustrating part of this was that the owner of the dog was just standing on the footpath talking on the phone AND DIDNT EVEN SAY A WORD!!!! So i got around the corner and jumped out to inspect... bingo. Guard and door scratched  .( Because it was dark the scratches looked worse on my phone light than what they really were). So iv done a U-turn and gone back to the owner(mind you the dogs still roaming while the owner is holding the chain) and told him his dog scratched my car, to which he replied, what do you wana do about it.

We ended up calling it square after he said it will never happen again and i was confident it would buff out.

So today i gave it a hand cut and polish and..........presto

My question is: Is it me or do ppl not respect other ppls cars these days, to just keep their mouth shut while their pet destroys ppls pride and,

: has anyone else encountered a situation like this?

Ever heard of an air rifle?

a lot of people don't care what their pets or children do.

If I caught anyone putting a scratch on my car i would treat it like an insurance case. I wouldn't show the emotion of rage. Take his details etc and then hand it over to the insurance company. Get him to admit his dog did jump all over the car. He can pay to have the sratches professionally fixed.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
