they are cheap certainly. Have more power than stock. But, aren't as good as Trust/HKS/Garrett/Apexi units by virtue of thier lack of power curve. Certainly not horrible for a cheap upgrade.

As long as you don't expect them to go as well as a more expensive HKS unit , I'm sure you won't be greatly let down.

If it were me I wouldn't personally buy one as the turbo is a major factor in determining the characteristics of performance and so I don't believe skimping is the best idea. Just my opinion. :thumbsup:

Lot of turbos might looks similar but performance wise they can be very different. Like TR43 and TR43HF they looks exactly the same but performs very differently. Their trim and porting in the housing and the sizes of turbine and comp wheels makes quite big difference.

The power band wise, If you make a turbo with a tiny comp wheel then its going to spool up mega fast but power band dies off around 4000RPM. just like diesle turbo. Most street performance patrol turbos are focusing on good mid range, Normally from 3500RPM to 7000 RPM depends on engine sizes, the bigger the better. TR43's power shot dyno read out

when i said the KKR430 looked similar i didnt mean the physical size of it, im talking about inducer/exducer size, A/R's etc etc

Many of my friends have used Hypergear products in the past including me.

A friend of mine just made 238kws on 18psi on a rb20 with a much, much better power curve then me, only thing is his got a power fc and full exhaust system where as i have a hks 2535 with stock dump/front and a emange blue. so tuneability wise its not the best (my car).

Point being, people buy cheaper (price wise) turbos because they are on a budget... and if you are on a tight budget you cant buy support mods (tune, ecu, fuel pump, afm, injectors ect ect) good enough to get the max potential out of the turbo.

thats why some people will say a product is crap while others are in love with it.... it all comes down to the build up.

get the hypergear, get a remap or a pfc and you will be loving life

I'm interested to see the printouts of your mates car with the hypergear...i struggle to see how a rb20 with a tr43 or whatever can actually have a better curve than a rb25 with a 2535...

What makes you say its a better curve? does it peak earlier or does it have more area under the curve or does it just climb higher at the end? same dyno?

Do you have a dyno on a dyno dynamics for refference at all?

thats more what i wanted to hear... actual personal experiences. if i got a TFR43HF id def get a remap to suit :)

i do value your opinion also simon :yes:

TFR43HF is ment for more power so you will loose response as its ment for 240 Kw+

If you want more response then get the non HF version but thats 200 kw to 240 kw.

you will need a tune to make these turbos perform like there ment to.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.

    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
