Let me know if anyone wants to go up for a cruise on the Saturday..

A few of us went last lime around 10 car i think.. it was a good day

70% R31s and some nice 31s at that.

But still a good range of R32s 33s and 34s also a good range of Princes..

SAUvic Events Co-ordinator.

No offence, but it doesnt have to be 70% 31, unfortunatly we are still lacking in the representaion of the later stuff,

We will have a the winfield gtr and the gio gtr, and im currently working on getting the other winfield gtr from Linfox's Collection, we also have the ex creative motor sports 33 coming, and one confirmed Grey import of a current nature which i cant tell u what it is, (but u could guess)

in 2006 we had ONE r33, and 2 r34's a heap of nice 32 gtr's including a Aus spec!

WE HAVE WINTON! we Have the greatest show n shine area in shep! were all like minded fun loving skyline drivers, what more could we offer the members of "Sau" to attend this event and battle for the trophies?!?

Any suggestions im open to them all ( except were not going to pay you to attend "sorry")

can we just go up there even if we aint competing?? and if so then how much to go there to watch?? cheers

yes you can attend if your not competing, but we would rather it if you came up and competed, it doesnt cost anything to come and watch.

Should make it up for a look on sat. Might race my car if I stay for the sunday.

If you decide to come up, and want to race, you had better look at putting your forms in now as there will not be any spaces aval on the weekend,

Breaking news everyone.

After months of phone calls, emails and the complete lack of return phone calls and emails, CSA President went up to Winton yesterday to get this sorted. Winton were simply not going to let us have their track because of the actions of another club which had Nissan and Datsuns in it.

Long story short, after a very long day, two people off work and 550 kays on the family truckster, we have now secured Winton Raceway for the Skyline nationals.

Not on the day we wanted though. We have the Saturday, not the Sunday, SOOOoOOOOOOOO,

Concourse or show and shine has had to be moved to the Sunday, (Yes I know it's not ideal, but the best we could do) and the sign in has been moved to Friday at the Park Lake (Now the Country Comfort) hotel between 3pm and 6pm on the Friday the 25th. Shepparton council were once again fantastic in helping us to move the day around. These guys are just awesome.

I apologise to everyone for the short notice of this. There has been nothing I could do to get a better outcome. Emails and phone calls to Winton have been going on since October last Year. We have had initial contact with Winton in May last year, and had a confirmation from them in July last year. They have handled this very badly, and if anyone could have been there yesterday, they would have seen how they simply just don't care.

Anyhoo, 6 weeks to go everyone, get your bloody entries in.

One month to go. Link to all the forms and downloads - www.skylinenationals.com Get on board this one guys and gals, it was absolutley huge last year, and with Winton, its gonna be even bigger.

Phone details etc:

And if you want to see these cars - in the flesh, and also racing at Winton, Be there. We have also had 99 percent confirmed that there will be an extra special car there, yes even more special that Rod, Terry and Gavin's beauties. Rod and Terry had a ball last time, that they asked me if they could come again.

Can the mastadd please update the first post with the correct days for the sprints?

I'm considering coming but I'm a n00b at Winton and it will by my first time at a sprint sooo not sure if its a good track for that or not.

Winton is a good track to learn at. It has plenty of run off and is not very fast. Although back at round one there was that bloke in his R33 GTR at his first track day who wrote off his car (or close to). There is only really one corner you could do that and he was unlucky enough to pick that one to have an off.

Guys you can't just lob on the day, you MUST get an entry form in. Go to www.skylinenationals.com and download one and fax to 03 9773 6987. We can not guarantee you a spot if you do not get your entry forms in.

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
    • I NEVER think about using a scissor jack unless there is absolutely no other alternative. f**king things are dangerous, annoying and stupid.
