Max Boost For Stock Turbo?

hey guys,

did a search n different result came up.

some thread says more than 10psi should be fine.

so which is which?

tuner set mine to 8.5 bar

car has normal mod like straight thru exhaust avcr safc2 fmic pod filter etc.

is (*edited)0.85 bar(12 psi) too high?

Wouldnt go any higher than 12psi.

are you sure 8.5bar ? lolz..

1 bar =15psi , so 8.5bar is ALOT !!!!

If you were running 8.5bar your turbo be gone pretty much in 2 secs flat... and denn your motor

he probably set yours to 8.5PSI, not BAR. and yeh as stated, i wouldnt go over 12psi.

what mods?

Stock SMIC can't do anything over about 9-10psi

Factory ECU can't handle anything over 10-11psi

hey fellas had a dyno run last night got a r34 gtt with mods they r greedy pro spec 2 boost controler/hks 3'' zaust turbo back intercooler exedy 3 puk clutch locked diff and low boost at 7 psi and high at 13 and i got 185 kw at the treads on low boost does that sound about right for those mods

i brought it to the tuners too the other day.

outcome was around 280rwhp.

is the avcr setting bar or psi? cos it states 0.85 on the A setting and 0.95 on B setting.

basic mods = straight thru exhaust from turbo, fmic, avcr, safc2, pod filter i think tats all.

most boost controllers are in kgcm2 or bar

not many controllers set pressure in PSI

run 12 daily, 14 if u wanna push her.. mines run for a year like that.

I would only run 10psi if you don't want any chance of the turbo dying, if you don't mind replacing it then run more

dont b weak just run 14psi, i ran 14psi on my old r32 turbo for nearly 2 years and it didnt die and i drove like a mad man.. the turbo was designed for 17.5psi max output but thats just stupid to run that much through it as the wheel would shatter
