I know we are changing the topic, but Amaroo was awesome. The whole complex was fantastic.

I remember having an intense battle with Gary (sydneykid) in our two 1970 odd model Honda civic on Amaroo dirt circuit back in the late 80's. We were 1st and 2nd outright throughout the whole day against big horse power machines. Each time one of us would go out we would pip the other for first. Gary got me by a tenth of a second in the end on the very last run of the day.

Awesome to have experienced stuff like that

And if you ever got the chance to race at Catalina in Katoomba (circuit is still there) you would have felt certain parts of your anatomy tightening :) as you drove around it. It was one of those circuits that required full commitment.

Nice memory Boz, I still have that trophy, somewhere in the cabinet, probably needs polishing. :(

I always liked Amaroo dirt circuit, I have a few FTD's from there. I think it was my most successful venue on a wins versus attempts basis. I engineered the car that held the record at Amaroo before Boz knocked it off, so I guess we are about square.

Ahh Catalina, in winter, with the fog in the air and moss growing on the circuit. That was a sphincter tightening experience.

Cheers

Gary

car not ready, targetted scruitiny not done, entry date missed, and no tyres. One or two of those I could sort out but not all 4.

Will be in for Eastern Creek late may instead - but it means I have no chance for the championship this year.

hey its not like I haven't been busy - I'm about to start building my 3rd motor for the year. And I've had the motor in and out 4 times in 4 months!

I need a bloody workshop to do it all. Or even a hoist would be nice.

nah not a chance in production cars - it is class based so if you don't do every round there will be someone from another class that will. Class A have the advantage since there is a bonus point for fastest lap (or pole I can't remember).

But I'll still get out there to cause trouble for the rest of the year

    • All my Polish car culture insight comes from watching Nightride. So I half expect this to get 1UZ swapped eventually?! Are you going to drive it in winter? I'm always curious how ATTESA would hold up in the snow. There isn't that much opportunity to try it in Australia.
    • My steering lock unit on my Infiniti G37 has failed. The car is a local 2012 Infiniti G37 (Q60 ) I need to replace the unit My local mechanic said i need to buy a complete steering wheel assembly. Does anybody no any mechanics in Gold Coast or Brisbane who can fix this issue or where i can buy just the Steering lock control unit. Thanks
    • thanks, will conduct myself accordingly. i unfortunately put about 150 miles on the car before reading this thread again, however no PS issues, and definitely no turbo issues. it spools normally and still feels fast to me, probably because my previous car was an N/A auto sedan...gonna go fix the PS vacuum line though lol. safe to say, got what i came to this thread for. thanks
    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
