i think that you need a receipt as proof for starters, and then i guess a police report would help (if you reported them stolen)?

sorry about the lack of info, but this happened to my g/f (wheels got stolen) and she needed a receipt for proof of purchase.

curious... what rims are they?

Dude, sorry to hear that.

How did they get stolen? During the night, parked on the street? Did you have the special lock-nuts on them?

Hope they didn't cost too much. Less than your insurance excess?

I haven't had experience with this, but common sense dictates that you should report it to police, not because they will do jack $hit, but to get the formal report, and then contact eBay with a copy and the seller's details.

Most likely you won't get the wheels back but hopefully it will damage the seller's reputation. Something at least. I'm sure you need a credit card to be an eBay seller, so eBay should have all their personal details.

The question is, how do you prove they are yours? Are they distinctive enough to do it on photos alone?

Yeah, you need receipts and preferably any photos of your car with the wheels on them.

But I really like R-Spec's idea... just "buy" them off him, although he will want to deliver them most likely instead of having people actually meet him.

Please post the link.

dont even bother buying them.

1 - send him a message on ebay asking if you can inspect the wheels.

2 - turn up (with friends) and tell him they're yours, and you will have cops there shortly if needed

3 - take the wheels.

4 - if he gives you any grief, deal with him appropriately.

although most of us will probably go to step 4 a bit earlier in the game :/

but first MAKE SURE they are definately your wheels.

he probably lives in a crap run down house with holden parts all in his front yard lol.

but im happy to tag along and give someone some much needed pain.

(sounds like my karate lessons could come in handy after all :/ )

i think the seller would probly want to post yea??

if not yea i'm in to go 'collect' with you and who ever else!!!

we'll make a SAU vic day trip out of it maybe??????

hmmm it's shit what they did... goodluck with the rest... i think helps all around if needed :/

That sucks. I don't think there's anything you can do without proof that they're yours. Beat him/her up and you'll end up charged with assault. :/ Unless you go check it out, beat him/her up so hard that they get amnesia or something and take the wheels while you're at it. :/

Ebay has a reporting feature but that would most likely just end up with the item removed and them selling it elsewhere.

Why can't the cops do anything?

Ask for inspection or pickup of the item and win it.

Then make sure he leaves you positive feedback on ebay before after you take the rims for free (using your preferred negotiation technique :/) lol

show us a link of the rims on ebay?

and yea if they yours if u got a picture of them of course if they got same tyre brand on them have some friends with some swords and guns and stuff and take them back and say never steal anything or u know what you gonna deal with next time hahahaha lol :P:D:ninja::D

theives should be dealt with correctly.. and i mean.. wrists and fingers broken :D or even a nice hammering to the back of their hands (casino style)

If i were u ferah.. find where they live and make sure they cant scratch their balls and piss out of a straw for the next 6 months!

would've been a good idea to get your license no stamped on the rims somewhere i guess

but doubt theres much chance of you getting them back..

+1 what rims were they and whats the ebay link

maybe this guy just found a photo of your car with the same rims and is using that..

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
