After driving a couple of AMG 63's and a E63 AMG I can tell you that this car would be balll breaking stuff to drive.

When I drove the E63. Its not really the acceleration that gets you (even though it feels like your breaking into hyperspeed throughout ALL rpm range).. its the brakes. They just rip your face off. I jumed on the anchors and the seatbelt snaped into lock and almost hit my head on the steering wheel.

Clarkson always spoke about cooking Merc brakes after no time at all and never really being able to turn the traction control off. Thats because the brakes act as the first form of traction control to slow certain corners of the car to stop it from sliding. And then the car cuts off the trottle. By pushing the "traction controll off" button dosen't really do much. You need to put the car in "dyno mode". But its not common knowledge how to it. So not everyone knows.

Just a bit of useless knowledge and criticism against Clarkson :D

What a POS. I cant believe the Germans are so stupid, talk about 60s thinkign with regards to performance. The only way they know how to make a car quicker is to throw a bigger motor in it. I mean what the fark. 6.3L V8 in a small sedan. Get with the times!

Have you heard rumours that the next one is going to have pushrods and a leaf-sprung rear axle?

Awesome! When Mercedes-Ilmor first got involved in Indy Cars a few years back they used a pushrod V8 as the rules at the time meant that a pushrod engine could run more boost and a few other little things from memory. They read that and went great. and built the most powerful engine until the rules were changed :)

But alas, i was beign an idiot with my above post. If Holden bump up displacement they get persecuted, they are just keeping pace with the times :(

Not a huge fan of the C63 though, its hard to pull me off an RS4 but if i could easily do it for an E63

Just turned up at work,

3 changes of pants later got some pics, sorry bout the quality.

0-100 in 4.5 seconds. and sounds awsome, got a audio clip to if anyone wants to hear it.

Meh. My Forester will get to 100 in almost the same time, show it the way through the hills, blitz in the wet and it costs 1/5th the price.

Never been a fan of the C class...unless its a CLK

These new 63 AMG's are bloody fast... when i was competing at Mt Panorama they where using them as Pace Cars and when they set off, they went flying (and had a real awesome sound to them to)!!

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
