Try some Falken ST115. These tyres have been the best for me so far with great grip in the dry and the wet and also seem really good on track days aswell. Get heaps of feedback from them and you know exactly when your on the limit and when it's gonna break loose. I paid $240 a piece for 235/45/17 and so far they are wearing great, have minamal road noise and have found that they handle better then the FK451. Not too sure on the other brands though.

sorry to warm this up, hopes this is not a stupid question...

on a gts-t with std rim widths, would it better to run 205/55R16 at the front and 225/50R16 at the rear? the idea behind this is in the wet, the thinner front tyres will disperse most of the water first before they get to the rear tyres, thus helps to reduce tramlining?

Also I saw 225 on std rims seems to be a bit too wide and looks like it could induce more roll during cornering? So you want slimmer tyre up front for better steering response? Is this logic right or wrong?

Well they're on the car! I went for the ZE-326 Falkens

I put these on in 235/45R17 form and they're a reasonable mix.. They are cheap for their price (I paid $800 for 4 fitted). Fine for a road tyre I think, and don't seem to wear heaps - but for a track tyre they're not great. Apparently they are meant to have longer wear but less grip than the more expensive Falkens, depends whether you are prepared for shorter lifespan.

I've been to the strip a couple of times with them on.. and can only get low 14's most of the time. That was no better than my Simex on my old rims. I was hoping for a consistent 0.3 -> 0.4s drop.

ps.rs73.. 225/50R16 is fine for standard rims.. i had them on my car for a while.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
