Hi

seen this item brought up in the "tailgating thread" and thought id look on youtube to see what it was.

didnt realise that device can cause the same effect as having no cat on teh exhaust.

Few questions also

1) is this harmful to the car in anyway??

2) can u turn the Bee*R rev limter on and off or is it constantly running like that untill u remove it?

3) how much do one of these cost?

4) does this give "any" performance gain watsoever or is it just for the show off factor?

Sounds awesome but apparently blow motors

so in saying that having no cat coverter is safer with the same effect am i right???

i just heard a few GTR's on a cruise i went on with that sound and the whole flame thing happening

really looks appealing to me and sounded awesome imo

its basically an anti-lag box, as the name imlpies, takes away lag on launch

it retards the timing off the planet at launch and provides spark cut launch control

so the turbo is wound up heaps, thus you get "boost" at launch

if you have a cat it will fry it, if you have cermaic exhaust wheel, it will fry it

yes it has an on/off feature

maybe $300 tops ?

it provides boost at launch rpm, if you get the power down without wheelspin it would provide good launches.

i dont like your chances in rear wheel drive, but good luck

i ran one before, didn't really do much cept spit flames into peoples open windscreens.

From memory...

1) probably but depends on how you use it

2) yes, just set the bee*r rev limiter an RPM higher than your standard rpm limit and it'll never hit...

3) around 200bux nowadays I think?

4) mainly flames/bangs... from the ignition cut vs fuel cut - which is apparently better...

oh and as mentioned.. launch control. although personally you i belive you run slower with it on haha

the bee R limiter is actually better for the motor just not the turbo

normal limiter kills fuel so theres still spark

bee R kills the spark but the injectors still spray in the fuel, thats why they blow big flames out the exhaust.

Its much safer for an engine to have fuel still pumped into it on the limiter than the spark still igniting with no fuel.

On a side note, they WILL destroy ceramic wheel turbos (stock turbo) and your cat will go bye bye

i just finished building an engine to replace one that had been wired with a Bee*R limiter.

all its conrods were bent the bores scored and had almost three mls of carbon build up on the valves.

the engine is still on the floor of the workshop in pieces.

anyone want a boat anchor????

Yeah but other then that how awesome is the flames and the gunshot sounds from the exhaust! :D

Except the fact that causing incorrect combustion situations the motor wasn’t designed for and explosions in the exhaust (that aren't meant to be there)…

Which is putting FAR more stress on the motor especially using stock parts (not just the turbo)

One or two times probably wouldn’t do much damage, but extended use overtime… I don’t wanna see the insides when its pulled down

The Bee R Limiter blew my forged motor. If the Bee R factory was in melbourne that built these i would've blown up the factory.

bee-r limiters dont kill motors, the idiots sitting on limiter do...

if used in moderation they are fine, but excess use will hurt your motor. but then again excess use of any limiter at high revs will damage a motor

as i was saying above, the engine had only done 1200 kms from its last rebuild.

the limiter is the worst thing in the world for any engine, factory limiter cut's fuel,

the Bee*R limiter cuts spark and because it can be set below factory limiter it keeps pumping in the fuel and the following picture is what you end up with.

because people wont listen to common sense.

most drifters i have seen have them. u can hear it...and see them in the dash.

a mate has one on his 180 with stock turbo. only thing bad that has happened is he now has a gutted cat.

question to the technical ppl.

i have a gt3540 with straight thru -decat-.

is there ANY way i will damage my turbo. i know it will only effect the turbo exhaust wheel and back..

is the 3540 up to the challenge?

I'm not 100% that the BeeR blows engines if used properly.

I probably wouldn't use them on a drift car, but I would (and have) used one on a normal car.

It brings you up to boost standing still, and this doesn't blow your engine. Cant.

you can also set them up to be a flat shift control by adding a clutch switch to your setup, therefore cutting engine spark during gear changes, and hence REDUCING the load on your drive train.

Sounds wierd, but I've driven a GTR with this sort of set up (but a MOTEC) and it works brilliantly and feels more like an auto than a manual. No let up in accel at all. It's actually quite awesome to drive.

i dont see how it would put more stress on the motor itself. For example, fuel sprays, theres no spark, the piston still goes down on its "power" stroke and when it goes back up it would blow most of the fuel out the exhaust valve on the exhaust stroke. Abliet there maybe some fuel vapour left over, but its just going to get more fuel on the next stroke anyway. There wont be an unexpected explosion inside the cylinder, its just that when the system ignites its next power stroke it ignites the rest of the fuel in the exhaust.

Could be wrong, but thats the way i picture it

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here  
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
