Good work Daz :P

Next time I'll remember that bloody ABS switch.

Oh and I have to agree with Chris - Russell you are now a RWD gun. Some of your driving on the weekend was awesome. I look forwards to watching you and Ryan go head to head at Masters.

Well done to all.

Stand outs for me are:

Daz - Good times all day without one mistake.

Ryan - Let someone else win RWD.

Chris Stacey - Great results for a first time.

Russell - Some great times

hmmm, people are catching up.

money cant buy talent, but it can by power apparently... so i think its time to invest.

Congrats Daz.

again, well done Russ;) and troy! Feck. 4thrwd... enthusiest for sure.

blahhh buying power is overrated :)

stock(ish) ftw! (or 21st in this case)

i agree, but i must admit i think some power would make things a bit more fun. sticky tyres and 140kw isnt very exciting under power. i want somewhat lairy power. similar to the green datto, slightly less than big red :) anything to make me laugh.

more power would be fun, if it was free...haha

is that what your cars putting out? mines in the same region but with crap tyres and stock suspension (besides sways)

bah

stock power, all 112kw of it (at the fly mind you) , street rubber,

only mods are springs and sway bars

20th!

all you need to do is avoid the cones and keep it straight

that being said I will be back in a diffrent car next time I do these, time for RWD turbo I do think

yeah, pretty much. for dutton we borrowed a Powerfc and got a whole 158kw out of it.. now it is back to standard comp with a little bit of boost... so im guessing 140.. maybe 150.

all you need is a set of coilovers to get a huge difference. im liking the semis on the front so i can stop and streets on the rear so it slides a bit more.

Just noticed a huge standout time! Mark in the 180b got the fastest second rwd run on th e mini wang of 25.95 in the 180b with 50kws and shit tyres. wtf thats fast?!

140kw and your still 1 sec faster than me on the long wang and about 2 sec faster on the skid pan (when I don't hit anything... which isn't often)... your not allowed to get more power!... in fact I think next time you should be forced to put the seats back in ... actually you should be forced to take out my seats and have them in your car as well lol

I'm coming with RE55s next time... might make up for my lack of skill... 'might' :)

wish I could have stayed for the battles, been watching the vids and they look like heaps of fun... best part of the day IMO

nice..thats some inspiration..although cbf with coilovers, i do have a set of semi's as well..might try them up front next time as well.

went even faster in the first run but got a penalty..

ludicrous speed..GO

Yeah I like that setup too especially on the skidpan. That's what I ran last time.

btw. If you buy power so will I :) I'm chasing you until I get a win. haha.

Nick. Did you find out what is wrong with your car?

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
