manuel or auto.

my auto did that turned out it was the fuel filter, dont ask me how that works but mine was also caused when i was turning a corner and my power steering overloaded the moter due to something to do with teh fuel. as i said it does not make sense but it stopped stalling

yea the most common issue is with the atmospheric bov as lingeringsoul stated. just put your standard plumb back bov back on or alternatively you could also get an electronic idling stabiliser kit so when you are off throttle your revs will ease down rather then completly dropping

yea it could be the BOV....i had this problem when i put a HKS super sequential in because my stock one had problems....i now have a GFB Stealth FX BOV which is fully ajustable and this fixed my stallling problems.....where i have it set to 1/4 atmo and 3/4 plumb back...if you are after a BOV i suggest the GFB is the best option if you dont have the stock one...

Put the stock BOV back on.

Thats intresting i never really had alot to do with turbo'd cars therefore still learning i would have thought the air idle motor to be faulty. Like jumed up or the ldle need ajusting. But when i think about it now a full atmosphere BOV would drop the revs quickly. Is there any other little querks i need to look out for with the r33 gtst's

Well yeah sort of..

The BOV dumps air out of the intake pipe, AFTER it's been registered by flowing past the air sensor. So when you dump air out of the intake the ECU still dumps the same amount of fuel in (expecting the air thats gone atmo, to come into the engine!). This creates the wrong air/fuel mixture, so when the revs drop to idle its not generating enough "bang" to keep the engine running on idle because its got a really rich mixture

Oh sorry.. i missed the part where you said the car was completely stock. If there isnt an atmo BOV, then you can try cleaning your AAC valve..

There is a DIY on how to do it here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...nd-t110431.html

If you've got some basic tools you can do it yourself pretty easily. Often a dirty/sticky AAC valve can cause idling issues..

- clean afm

- clean aac valve

- re-set ecu

Your car shouldnt be running highly rich if its just stock!!

Unless you got exhaust and bosted it up a bit (if you still call that stock?)

Otherwise check theres no leaks in hoses etc.

Car runs fine when you drive it? Or does it hestitate while giving it some?

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
