I have a R31 skyline with a RB30E NA, and that thing pisses on SR20DE manuals.. And i dont have much mods on it, just exhaust, pod, timing etc.. I know its a skyline forum, but i would go with the silvia if the car was going to be NA. Better power/weight, a bit sluggish as well, but not as sluggish as a 1500kg NA 2.5L :D

im not at all biased, my mait easily has one of the nicest looking silvia's ive every seen, it will out corner my car neday. but just doesnt have the feel of my car on the road. It is also the NA CA18DE and well lets just say its a joke.

ok cross my heart...

Cold morning...

@ 3 lane hwy...

@ light; goes Green

we took off

Silvia was faster at the take off about a 1/3 length...

then as soon as I hit 3k rpm and over in 2nd and I was pulling infront of him, just saw him pass my right hand view mirro...

there was two people in the car in skyline, there was only driver in silvia....

we both backed off at 4th gear 4000rpm... :(

*this was happen @ private road*

cheers

Joe

ya know u ask this question in a silvia forum u'll get a different answer. alot of what is said here is biased and thats no shit. being a fan of both silvias/skylines i think the sr20de is rather good and would go alright. as for people saying they piss over ca18det's in rb25de's well then i think someones pulling their chains. cause a good driver of a turbo ca is not slow thats for sure

mm definately go na rb over na sr (105kW & 178Nm or 117kW for s14 sr20) or ca (100kW & 159Nm) (cough laugh)

power isnt the only figure to quote here guys, you gotta think torque aswell - the rb 25 shits all over either of the 4 cylinders just cos its got the extra 2 cylinders - 142kw and 231Nm of torque means it is not a slow car -sure not as fast as the turbo- u'll get a manual under 7 sec with mods - and whoever is quoting 1500kg for a 33 i think is a bit off - i'm sure mine doesnt weigh anything like that - otherwise i wouldnt be able to whoop vs commodores with a totally stock car (not nemore tho) which weigh in at 1430kg would i?

u also gotta consider longevity - the rb 6 is gonna rev for longer than a ca 4 and probably as long as an sr (before i get pm's telling me the sr is 'bulletproof') not too mention value holding - as soon as the 15yr '89 model silvias come over next year cya lata silvia values

    • Order for the 2025 model R35 GT-R were accepted from 3rd March and 26th August the last order rolled off the production line at the Tochigi plant. Concerning the R35 GT-R replacement, current Nissan CEO Ivan Espinosa said "Nothing has been decided about the GT-R at this time, but we are well aware that everyone is waiting. The GT-R will evolve and reappear in the future. Please be patient until that day comes." Nissan has a lot of issues with management and finances so take Espinosa's words with a big grain of salt. From what discussions I've had and read about here in Japan, not a lot of people are confident about Nissan's future, let alone the next GT-R.
    • Thanks. We getting some parts along too so he will be solving the speed issue like next week so i will let you know what he came up with.
    • 21 is explicitly the coils detected as the issue. Is it guaranteed the actual issue? No. Just the ECU thinks it is. When you say rattling, describe it better, get an audio clip as best you can if possible.
    • Yea got me coppers. Bad news is I just put them in and the car still has the light and shakes. I also noticed I hear like rattling coming from the exhaust piping right under me. Does 21 also have a possibility of being O2 sensors?   So, coil packs are good, the harness is good, the MAF is working, and obviously the spark plugs just replaced and working.
    • Make sure you drop the GTT base tune back in, and set your injectors again, this will remove anything playing up with it you may have removed. Possibly lean there as it's normally a fast transient going THROUGH atmospheric pressure, and a turbo motor would then quickly go richer as boost builds. The only worry you MIGHT have is ignition timing, as the DE is higher compression than the DET from memory. But again, you're not in boost, so the DE motor will be a lot more forgiving at atmospheric.   Get Murray, Kinkstahs, and Johnny's input on tuning haltechs, those guys have played with tuning enough in the past to be able to help now you're past the trouble shooting stage of the MAP issue
