They have at least 10..maybe 15

I know it can be a bit much for the newbies to be shelling out loads of cash just to get started.

EDIT: nevermind :D

LOL!

Paul go to Broadmeadow any of the bike shops there will be able to help you, go the Frazer’s then have a look at Suzuki of Newcastle and compare prices.

Good luck.

Ryan

I was going to suggest that but I don't know the area that well.. Newcastle is just so far! :)

hey corinne, did you end up speaking to sydney city motorcycles about the sau discount? I remember you said you knew someone that worked there?

i called them up about a month ago, and the sau discount wasn't available

I've got a very Newbie sounding question but I am a newbie....(and I did a search but coudln't find anything)

I need to buy a helmet for Saturday....I am assuming any helmet I buy from a motorbike shop will be good enough as long as it is a full face...also what sort of money would i expect to spend...I assume all helmets sold in Aus are approved??

Anyone in Newcastle bought one up here recently, if so who from???

Sydney city motorcycles - i paid $80 for an open face one about 3 years ago. Does the job and my face doesnt get hot underneath it

shotgun going out first

will we progress up if we do good lap times or stay in the same group

Are you expecting to be fast? People will be moved as appropriate but we hope to get groupings as close as possible before the day starts.

Weather is looking good, at least for Southern Highlands min 2 c max 14c no rain clearing cloud.

Zed is looking good to make it. Doing lots of little things to it this week still.

Yo James, I've tried to get incontact with them but they have been lazy.. I'll give him a ring tonight and see what's the go.

Did you try quoting the account number as Jon said?

come to think of it, no I didn't try quoting any account number when i rung up about a month ago. I guess I should have read that thread a bit more thoroughly and asked for Andrew Cura. the person I spoke to didn't know what I was talking about re SAU discount.

Probably going to go in there on thursday to grab a helmet

gosh.

after reading this page im NEVER hiring a helmet.

next track day i can participate in, ill give SCM a visit.

you guys need any volunteers for help on the day?

im coming down to watch but if i can help anywhere let me know.

Hey you guys looking for helmets, there is a place at wetherill park (its actually a mower/dune buggy shop) that sells open face helmets for $65!!

Dave got one just before texi.... Im heading there tomorrow to get mine so il throw the details up then ;)

Quick question, really unimportant but a question anyways...

At the moment I have a choice of taking 2 front bars.

One is white like the rest of my car (probably because its the factory one that came with it ;)) but has a gash in the side of it and the indicator/fog light surround is non existant. Lights are intact

The other is black but is in almost perfect condition.

Do I go to the track this weekend with a white or black bra? :laughing-smiley-014:

.Perhaps saying bra instead of bar was intentional.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
