It's even funnier that cams have no real written rules regarding cameras so they have left it up to the poor scrut to work it out. I had old man Cary Butchers (spelling) Michele's log book man design my video holder and he now points to it saying thats whats required. I've seen shift-light size ones duct taped to roofs pass scrut and all the little ones like the suction cup hero. Scary was one guy at a Powerplay day that cable tied his including the tripod to his headrest poles.

Titan,,,don't worry about the weather mate,,,it's all good for learning your race-craft. I was always worried about driving in the ran,,,now I love it!!!.

So a good idea for everybody should be to replace those old weather beaten wiper refills with some new ones.

Neil.

Actually it depends on different events regulations.

Oh the rallies you have to have the camera enclosed in a metal bracket which is like 0.5 ml thick (something along those lines) and has to be bolted to the roll bar.

Ok guys, I will be checking cameras in that case. Depending on type and how it is mounted will be determind on the day.

At scrutineering have your car ready as if you are going out on the track.

1300 653 529

I had ours faxed yesterday

lol like the front visor thingy, do you needed it?

ahm mm

im confused...

yeah yeah it is, there one sticker on the visor and one on the back of the helmet,

coz i full cbf put the visor down, sweaty n fog n shit :D

Yea having the visor off is fine Albert! I know how hot it can get. Even on the bike I always have mine up.

Chris I have a spare il bring for you....

Its not mechanical, kinchrome digital... we compared it to the mechanical one of Daves and its actually pretty accurate!! ... or you can wait in turn to use the good one! it glows in the dark... hence why I like it.... :(

p.s Corinne... BBC??? suciton cap.... therefore safely mounted yes??? ;)

Haha well just imaging how heavy the BBC is. Then imagine it flying at your head 11ty billion times heavier!

cool. so do we have to have "hans" devices?

and do we all have to have our sump plug and gearbox plugs lock wired?

what about the fire extingisher? its usaly just tek screwed in, is this ok?

and since our cars are all rated to over 2.5litres (turbo multiplier) do we have to have 3 litre catch cans?

also do we have to remove all window tint?

will we be black flagged for not running valve caps on our tyres?

do we have to drain our coolant and refil with a non glycol based inhibiter?

do we need window nets?

and if we have a harness does it have to be in date?

are secondary bonnet locks needed?

what about anti shatter adhesive covers to glass light lenses?

do we need a cams approved tail shaft loop?

lets be seriouse here lol.

things like floor mats, spare tyre( held in with bolts, and passed adr crash tests..) fine. no major oil leaks and nothing baulky loose in the cabin. thats about it. just common sence.

suction cuped electronics are allowed. your waring a helmet so what can it do to you......lets not be assholes like a phillip island..

its not a full on cams target scrutineering sesson peeps.

its turn up, get all the loose shit out of the car, on with your helmet and away you go. if we are going to be full on captain cams, (confederation against motor sport) then all the items i listed above need to be implemented, and some. or its just a half assed crock.. lol :)

lets just be realistic here.. cheeres ;)

So not funny Dave... Lol.. I'll give you V8 scrutineering if you want!!!!

I'll even make you drain the whole car even through the lines, weigh it then fill it back up and weigh it again!

Then make you assemble the engine in front of me, measure it then you can put it back together. Then i'll measure the car bases, the axles & everything else. I'll even do some full testing in the back of my ute. Want me to go on? :(

Then I will Fail you.

LMFAO.

You'ed be suprised what people leave in the car.

Maybe if we needed a grade 1 scruitneer any of that would be neccessary...

It's all just common sense with scruiteneering even the supersprints are pretty easy going but firm and isnt this suppose to be about fun :(

Do we really need to get this over the top about a "driver training day"!

It's the same scrutineering we used the year before. This is a private track I'm sure they don't want to have to clean bits of your cars off the circuit. Everyone needs to understand that we are looking out for everyones safety not just the car we are scrutineering. Last year there were no problems so I think everyone should be fine.

dont worry Corinne answered.. I just got ours faxed then :)

Couldnt agree with Dave's post more ;)

Well, my car is packed - beer is coldish....Im ready!

hahaha

Spanna and others, see you at 1pm SHARP lol

no worries hun... Im actually nearly ready to leave work... just need to do week end roll and im outta here..... so ahead of schedule :( !!

Giant black dildo's?
Besides anna's BBC ;)

lol.... tis famous :(

ahh I really don't think holding a camera is a good idea myself, you would be surprised how its the last thing you remember to hold onto if you hit something solid, rollover etc. you tend to be grabbing for solid bits of car to hold on to instead.

look scruitineering is just about keeping safe on the track, obviously its not at the same level that Dave posted above, but neither do we want cars on the track like that idiot who got pulled up doing 180 with a battery with no bracket on it. There is a happy medium in between.

See y'all there bright and early tomorrow.....forecast looks pretty good for Goulburn at this time of year....just bring a good jacket! (or buy an sau one on the day)

Forecast for Saturday

Isolated early showers clearing to a fine day. Southwest winds.

Goulburn : Becoming fine. Min: 4 Max: 13

Steve-O - with the garages you know if i can rent last minute on Friday evening ... might need it depending on what happens when i get home at 3am this morning lol

Yeah i think so

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
