so stupid me decided to wash my engine bay today... went to malaga car wash, sprayed it with degreaser and then washed it off... when driving off the car felt different and would vibrate a bit so i stopped to make sure nothing was disconnected inthe engine bay. started driving again and i noticed it sounded like a wrx. so i drove home and it was vibrating all the way. when i took off it would shake, in 3rd going 40 i floored it and heard the turbo spinning but no boost coming on. drove really slow all teh way home nearly in tears :)

has it happened to anyone before and does anyone know what to do? is it the turbo??

i feel like crying right now >_<

lol thats ok.

happened to me once before after getting my car detailed. i called the detailers to tell them, but they were in the pub and didnt care.

then i still didnt learn and the next time they sprayed my speakers with water...

I still use them though. Its convenient?

ps next time keep the water away from the engine cover at the top >_< (if you still have one)

lmao, its funny how often this happens eh, im a detailer so i deal with it most days... generally its commodores or toyota's that do it... easy to sort out, or you could just keep driving and it will disappear...

Strange thing is, i have never detailed the engine of my car... lol :D

LOL i understand you pain, hate it when something happens to your car when you have little knowledge so its good to see people here on sauwa help others out!!! Not like other clubs that simply put others down for *asking stupid questions* some people just judge too quickly!!!

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
