who claims your econo goes out the windows :woot: to my knowledge this is lies

after personally driving same car with cat and without mine hasn't changed from a cat

My mate had no cat on his GTR and he reakons that he got really bad fuel economy....so thats where i got that bit of information from steve

maybe the bad econo come from putting his foot down all the time to hear the improved note?

i know thats what happened with my old stato...

my fuel economy isnt the best right now any way, i told simon when he tuned the fc not to worry bout fuel consumtion.

as its not a daily.

if i drive it on both days of the weekend, i easily eat through a tank of ultimate.

my knocked out cat is no probs at the moment! but saying that after i knocked it out i did blow my turbo! but i did put a jazma exhaust on to keep the noise down and i like it quiet! but since the exhaust is already restricting, it doesn't pop flames and smell, and the noise was the same but i did see a bit more top end in my rev range!

more of a reason to hybridge! gt30 woo anyway mine only blew because i was trying to squeeze as much out of it as possible til my cat started to restrict the turbo from spooling anymore! so after knocking out the cat the turbo had nothing restricting it and it span away

had it all fixed today, 3'' one peice dump front pipe from turbo all the way to first muffler, onto the hks rear cannon style muffler.

took out the cat all together as it was pretty much blocked (seen it for myself)

sounds much better, rob did a great job, highly recommended!!!

all up including the dump pipe, extra pipework, flanges and gaskets etc it come to $525.

nice and cheap craig....now just dont let a cop have a look at that mate....

i dont plan on it lol...

i cant remember who said it, but someone on here said i better hope a cop doesnt hear the screamer on the way to get the new pipe

well, as i was driving past ttp on the way to rampage, guess who pulled up next to me at the lights, yep, the po po.

i was already thinking of excuses and shitin myself, then i noticed they had the windows down, i was sure i was going to get done, it sounded like a bloody tractor!!!

but..they didnt even look at me! thank god.

then i realised, they pulled into maccas, so it was obviously breakfast time, so they had better things to do than pull me over.

it got my heart going thats for sure.

i had a gasket leak on my 33 and it sounded just like yours.....similar to a tractor.......and i cop pulled me over....he thought it was a worked up motor.....i was like duuude wtf lol......i was on the way to the mechanics as well.....dumb cops

mods, please delete any info in relation to the possibility of getting my car defected from this thread.

due to sapol making there presense felt here,

i will be keeping all future modifications to my car, quiet.

thank you in advance, craig.

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
