So I want to buy some new rims and run slicks for autocross and track days. I DON'T want to have the JDM stretch tyre look. Preferably I want to run at least 265/40(or35)/17s all around. All the offset threads are for the "coolest" looking wheels with like 215 or 225 tyres. Does anyone have any advice on rims size/offset to be able to run a wide slick? I've researched that you can fit a 275/40/17 on a 9" rim, but what will I need to do to the car to make them fit? How much of a pull/flare will be needed on the rear, and if I absolutly HAVE to I can source some GTR front guards, but I would prefer not to.

Right now I am thinking the 5zigen fno1r because it is well priced with 9 or 9.5" all around with a +15 in the rear and +25ish in the front.

My suspension is set up to -3.5 camber in the front, -1.5 rear, 1/8'' toe out on the front with neutral toe in the rear.

All this for a 92 R32 gts-t.

Thanks!

Rears will be fine with a 9inch no flare needed..

Im not 100% about the front..

Why not slap on a set of 33 GTR's? Cheap to buy, 9" rim light, 17. That way yu can sped the difrence on something else?

If its only a track rim you dont need something very flashy..

you will not fit a 9.5 +15 on the rear without massive guard work if you want to run a 265 wide tyre. (why 265 incidentally?). Thats actually the size of wheel i have on my gtst for street duties with stretched 235's and flared guards and it still scrubs a bit.

I run a 17x9 +35 rear on my gtst with 235/45 RE55's for track work at the moment. They fit before i modded the guards as well.

On the front with stock guards i ran 17x8 +30 with 215/45 advans. I added gtr guards and can now fit 17x9 +25 on the front with 235/45 RE55's. I reckon i could probably squeeze a 255/40 under the guard on that rim but i doubt i'd bother at this stage as i'd have a bit of work to fit a 255 under the rear.

ok, so 265's are a little on the big side. now I wanted to keep the sizes all the same so I would be able to rotate them to save some cost, but if it's best I could go staggered. Now thinking, 17x9.5 with a 245 or maybe a 255 (I don't mind the work to get them to fit as the car is being painted soon.) and 17x8.5 with a 235 in the front.

What are your camber settings with the gts-t gaurds with the 215 tire? Because I have a 215 now and there seems to be a LOT of room for extra.

I had 3 degrees. There was a reasonable amount of space there but not enough that i was confident trying to fit a 235 RE55 in there as they are a BIG 235.

I had an 8.5 +36 on the front for a while with a 225/45 tyre and the same camber. That scrubbed a bit until i rolled the guard slightly.

What is your ride height likel. I previously fitted 17x9.5 + 36 rears and 17x8.5 +30 on the front. I ran 235/40/17s on the front and 245/45/17s RE55s on the rear.

17X9 and 17x8s are an easier fit for clearance sake, only you have to go down to 235s all round, the 235 are a good fit on the rear but bnot that great on the 8" wheels, really need to go to 215/45/17
