what sound does yours make and how loud ..also this would be legal so no sticker :D

i cant see why it would be illegal??

it just makes a flutter sound, and is a little louder than the standard whoosh from the standard plumb back bov.

also depends on what turbo you are running as to how loud it will be.

yer thats sick i had the flutter sound with my atmospheric bov but stalled all tha time so this should be good :D

Cops wont like it but no technically its not a defect..but no doubt they'll get you for exessive noise. Same as bov.

Defects hey .. you know That phat turbo under your hood is .. Probly that high mount you bolted onto it most likely is.. the wastegate you have.. yeah id say so..

Aftermarket exhaust? Yeap

Aftermarket ECU? Hell yes..

Your worried about your noises? lol

atmoshperic bov are considered noise pollution in SA, not sure bout other states.

thats a load off shitt aye cops are soo gay but will they pull you over to check up on that shit i mean ive been through road blocks and booze busses and they have obveiously heard my pshhht coming down the street and havent said anything .. just luck i guess

u guys are f**kn dickheads. have you guys ever throught that maybe its to cure the bov leak? or maybe it was just easier cuz his running a aftermarket plenum and throttle body. or many other things?

not eveyrone has 500bux to spend on a BOV.....and blocking it gets rid of both defects and keeps boost from leaking out of the factory shit bov. its a cheap and easy thing to do. so i dont know why so many of these f*kheads are splittn more shit on these forums.

i wish there were more mods doin the rounds cuz there are just to many f*kn heros on this board.

well said :D

If your running an AFM, with a blocked off bov, it WILL idle worse and stall under heavy braking (due to extra vacuum).. not fun.

im running a blocked off valve and AFM and dont have any dramas with stalling at all. atmo venting valves are the ones that give dramas stalling

Dumbest thing ive ever heard.. Get a plumb back if youve got a bigger turbo recirculation helps with smoother transition of gears.. blocking off the bov will make the turbo chuff/flutter and make the car feel like its almost going to stop during gear change.

not sure what air your on about.

you have no clue

half these idiots havnt even got 1st hand experience and they talk like they do.

ive had my bov blocked and sporting over 350kw at the wheels. with afms. i dont get stalling issues and i dont have stupid idle problems.

ppl who have these problems dont tune their car.

if you block your BOV, get it tuned to run with a BLOCKED BOV.

i still gotta get mine tuned but my machanic said there was no probs when he tested it and thats untuned

guys, please try and keep the aggressive and abusive posts out of this forum. also, this guy asked a serious question and just posting silly answers does not help, and is not as funny as it may seem in your head. all it does is guarantee the thread goes downhill fast. consider yourselves all given a friendly warning, but continued behaviour like this will result in official warning and eventually posting restriction and banning. So please help me keep the forum friendly and informative.

now a serious response.

it is actually illegal to remove/block/disable the blow off valve on a car that was fitted with one from the factory (which yours was). Simply because the blow off valve (actually a compressor bypass valve) is part of the factory emissions equipment.

On top of that the flutter noise it makes will attract attention from the police.

I would suggest if you have a problem with your factory GTST BOV leaking then consider upgrading to a standard GTR BOV (32/33/34 are all good). They can be often had quite cheaply, look very factory, flow plenty and can handle plenty of boost without leaking. I would say $50 or $60 would get you one, and from what I understand they are pretty much direct fit.

Its because your cars tuned man, half the guys on here block the blow off valve/go atmo bov then ask 'why is the car stalling, why do I get bad idle' etc etc

I used to get stalling with a blocked bov on stock ECU but not on the Power FC. I also didn't get stalling issues when running an atmo BOV on the Power FC but again thats probably because of the way its tuned

Its probably more to do with the way the stock ECU is tuned, it expects the air to recirculate back from the BOV to the intake and when it doesn't thats when you get stalling etc but who the hell would go get there ECU tuned after blocking there bov? Thats stupid

Your running after market ECU, tune etc thats why you don't get stalling but who the hell is going to block there BOV then go get a tune done just for that?

Majority of people do it on stock ECU, run into stalling issues, idle problems and all the rest of it, then a thread goes up asking why

Actually, I didnt have a BOV fitted to my new forward facing plenum / intercooler piping - I put my foot down around the corner from the garage and my I/C piping blew off!

So im thinking if my piping hadn't blown of under pressure, surely it would hurt the turbo in the long run?

it blew off because you didnt secure it properly. how much pound were u running through the pipes? are there alot of bends?

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
