try E-car i think i mite be lucky coz they screwd up but im only payin $500 for r33 gtst and mums barina fully comp. and im 19years old with clean driving history. garaged with $600 xsec. and valauad at $18000. im not complaining as i gt paper work if i need it.

GIO was the most expensive for me but I can drive anywhere, park wherever and basically not have a care. GIO custom car insurance that is.

Its about 2600 a year but well worth it for a daily driver.

GIO Custom Car has been great for me. No restrictions on movement, dont care about garage (though it is garaged), dont mind about alarm (though it has one)....

hmmm i say get a sex change? what i found out which was weird that my insurance was hell cheaper when qouted then that of my partners. for the same car, same address, same everything just that he was 3 years older then me with no driving offenses or anything. then there was me haven't had my license for a year when i bought the skyline, and had had one previous accident which was a third party claim. It turned out to be round 1500 cheaper. :) female power!!! its pretty terrible how men get judged so harshly...women drivers are ten times worse and i am willing to admit that. well besides me that his :D

currently with Just cars 3rd party fire and theft only. $600 something

changing to Shannon's in November $1376 a year for $12000. excess wasn't much.

with Shannon's i was told the car needs to be in a lock up garage when at home address

and because my bad driving history was more then 5yrs ago im all sweet. So nothing

to worry about or no extra charges.

Oh yeh and thats on a partially driven car rate.

i was told to add 6-700 ontop if it was a daily driver.

im 25 on full license and located at Doonside.

Goodluck with it,atleast get 3rd party.

+ a Thumbs up to the dude at Shannon's. :D

i'm from doonside too ^^

although just car quorted me not too far off the OP. it sucks.

Hey guys.

Just did a quote on JUSTCAR and got $4711 for comprehensive!!

For gods sake what the hell !!

How much does your's cost and where from!

MRXTCZ

got a quote with nrma just to see "how bad" it was.

19, no offences, accidents etc r34gt $11463 per year hahaha. when you look at the other companies after that they don't seem so bad =P

Wow....some of these are crazy!!

Anyway Hope this is useful:

I'm 18 - insured with Just Car - drive a 1998 R34 25GT Skyline coupe (non turbo) and i was on my red p's when i got this quote and I'm on my greens now - no accidents no speeding fines although i did get busted for going up a one way street the wrong way (i tried the good old "but officer i was going one way - but it didn't work :D ) and i told 'just car' about that....the car is parked in kellyville...im the only insured driver...i can drive it whenever i want - where ever i want - park it where ever i want - although they do want to know where it will be parked at night...so obviously u cant park it in a shopping car park over night :D - didn't need a locked up garage - must have an immobilizer - can put whatever performance enhancing parts on the car as long as its not illegal and doesn't breach my driving restrictions ( p plate Prohibitions) - also anyone who drives the car and I'm in the car with them is coverd...so my mate could drive and I'm in the passenger seat and he would be covered (obviously he must have a license and sober :( duh)

so with those details i pay $2,314 premium - the car is valued at $17,500 including $1500 for wheel insurance......thats the best quote i could get - nrma wouldn't touch me - shannons wouldn't touch me - GIO was like 3500........ so yea...

also if i crash i have an excess of $3500 (i know...ouch!) - for a p plater thats not bad i think :(

also it was mentioned befor - your crazy if ur driving without insurance atm!!

I'm with Justcar.

I'm 21

Live in a low risk area

1 speeding fine

1 licence suspension (from above speeding fine)

Alarm/Immobiliser/Turbo Timer

Around $2,000 for wheels

Around $500 for sound system

Pay around $2,200. Last year was around $3,500

Granted excess is at a point where I want to all but write off the car lol

no one wanted to insure me except Just Car....quoted me 4k for full comp...

but then thank god for meeting chicks who work at NRMA.

You have go to be joking... no offence but the best price NRMA could do for me was more than double what JustCar wanted, and I didn't even tell NRMA about my driving history. They put it down to "not being speciallists in imports and high performance cars." Bullshit, JustCar insures anything just like NRMA and pays the money just like NRMA. But did you know you can save up to 12.5% if you combine policies? That brings down the price to just 75% more than JustCar LOL

Rang up Shannons, and they gave me an EXCELENT price, except I needed a garage to be insured... so that went out the window :D

    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
