Its an original motor from R33 gts-t

Specs:

-blitz air filter

-hybrid FMIC

-3"exhaust.

-dumpvalve

-6-puck sinter,bear 420hp and 500NM

I want to take out between 350-400 hp. How shall i do that ? How many bars can i push the turbo boost with, and be safe not to blow anything ? And what about gasoline flow ?

The motor have run 85.000 km and never been tuned before.

Have a search on the forums, that hp has been acheived heaps of time. Especially look at the dyno result thread for the rb25's, that way you can see the people that have achieved that hp and see what mods it took them to achieve it.

Just to get you started:

Fuel:

-Bigger injectors (something like the nismo 555cc would be good)

-Bigger fuel pump (bosch is good value)

Management:

-ECU (its hard to go past a powerfc)

-boost control (profec)

Turbo:

-Garrett GT3071R or GT3076R depending how far you wanna go

-all new turbo fittings including new dump

The stock bottom end will be fine as long as the motor is in good nick and you get a nice tune done

Its an streetcar, and i shall not change the turbo. Will use the original turbo.

Have found:

Boost controller: http://www.2kracing.com/Product/2376.html

Injectors: http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/pe55rbinkit.html

Is those injectors shit ? Shall i use nismo or hks ?

No i just need a fuelpump, any advices for where i can find good pumps for nice prices ?

If you will be using the original turbo, you won't be making 350-400hp  You will blow your turbo up before needing bigger injectors. Don't push the stock turbo over 12psi tuned, in my opinion.

I pushed my turbo to 14psi................... ;)

And the exhaust wheel came out the back :D

btw the standard turbo is only ment to last till 60k

easy

Apexi Pfc

Nismo 740cc injectors

Nismo Fuel Pump Or Tomei (both are direct bolt in and will support your power lvl)

Z32 AFm

HKS GT-RS or similar

EBC (i use blitz sbc-id3 but anything good will do)

with the GT-RS you should only need to push 16psi to make 350rwhp

Tune

As above.

If the car is going to be used for track use then just be aware that at those power levels an internally stock RB25DET WILL be a timebomb.

If driven as a street car though, with a good tune it will stay togeather for years.

who told you this?

I have had 350rwhp in my rb25det with over 150,000km for more than 2years now, have done fair bit of track work and the engine is still going strong

WTF? the std turbo will last longer than 60k if its treat right (e.g not over boosted pass 12psi)

7 psi. Mate, you really are kidding yourself if you want to get any real performance without changing the turbo.

if u actually look hes from norway so theres ur issue lol....

i had my stock turbo at 14psi which is how it came from jappy land with a mines tuned ecu and a front mount.... it was quite a freak for a stock car.......

but u will need a bigger turbo buddy....

' date='13 Jun 2008, 04:06 PM' post='3941325']

who told you this?

The two blown RB25's I have in the garage :)

But they did take a really solid beating and were putting out 370RWHP @ 14psi so I am not complaining in anyway, they served their purpose and I am now building a forged RB25/30 :)

To be fair the first RB25's condition was basically unknown but it held up for just over a year, and the second one copped a nasty hit to the sump from a ripple strip and the drive back to the pits may have slightly starved it of oil as pickup in the sump was a bit kinked and shit.

The car im looking at have run 85k, but the turbo is just as tight as a new out of the box turbo when i checked the fans inside.

How many psi do the rd25det pushes when its untouched ?

The car your looking the turbo is untouched

the Ceramic Exhaust wheel comes off................what did you do take the dump pipe off or sumthing

Look at my signature............that is what i need to get 270rwkw @17psi.....

and i limited it at 271rwkw cause i still have standard manifold

    • I mean it's a bit late to say "This won't have any tangible effect and it is not worth spending more than about three seconds on it, please just enjoy the car" But I said it anyway. Does the pod actually get any airflow in that position behind a bumper like that?
    • Hey guys - apologies for digging this up. Has this website been shutdown or is the outage temporary?
    • So, went shopping at Just Jap for things that might work for the intake  After some trial fitting there I ended up with a 3" x 45° silicone bend, a 3" x 300mm alloy straight, and a humped joiner, some minor trimming will be required to shorten some of the stuff, but nothing that is beyond my "ham fisted" skills The guy at Just Jap was most helpful as we had all sorts of joiners,  bends and stuff out trial fitting  Laying it out above the stuff in there it seems everything will fit nicely, and looking at it, it is probably the way I should have been looking at doing it from the beginning, probably..... In the end it is a front bar off job anyway to remove the original stuff behind the front bar that is taking up the required realestate needed, so maybe a Thursday or Friday job And because I'm a hopeless consumer, I grabbed some new steel wheel nuts, the current ones are a spline drive type with a "security" socket, that somehow someone keeps misplacing, the new ones are a basic black steel 17mm hex socket In other news: I just did my "final" tax return, I am now officially a old retired veteran pensioner, and I'm milking the system for all it's worth,  life is good
    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
