i have a gtst r33, series 1 skyline. wondering the best route to go to turn up the boost on the stock snail. i was told the greddy profec requires an hks fuel cut eliminator....

is there a boost controller that takes care of raised fueling needs?

i feel like a total retard going from high comp NA hondas to boosted nissans.

thanks for the help.

How is the condition on your turbo? Stock or Aftermarket?

I think R33 have ceramic internals for their turbos, so don't go too hard.

If you got aftermarket turbo you can go a bit more boost.

Then you might need a front mount intercooler.

I don't have much experiance with boost controllers, but Im sure the big brands like APexi, Blitz and HKS will do a good job.

Ppl then might say you need a APexi Power FC to map out your air / fuel mixtures.

turbo should be ok, car has very low miles. im not looking to get ridiculous. i am getting a FMIC in a week, thats why i am asking, because i know with a front mount, i am going to get a pressure drop.

i guess stock is something like 4psi to 8psi dual stage(you guys use metrics?) and im lookin for i guess something like 12psi on the stock turbo with a front mount.

that should hold me over til i pick up a atermarket manifold, turbo and external wastegate.

just go get a maunual boost controller for ya local rev head store and you can safly wind her up to 11-12psi if you got a front mount really limits of the stock turbos rear wheel, there is a thred in diy on installation of a manual boost controller

If you get the correct size intercooler, boost lost should be a problem, I don't think..?

BTW ppl talk about removing the boost restricter in the hose going to the boost solenoid... There is talk about this on GTR's but have a look at the GTS-T.

The restricter is a little cylender inside the hose with a smaller diametre in resulting in a boost restriction. Squeeze the cylender out and plug the hose back in and you should get a Factory Safe Boost Increase.

I haven't found any solid evidance to prove this and best is to ask your mechanic.

Someone might wanna clear this up for me...

when i read you guy's posts, i read them wit han australian accent in my head. is that weird?

No boost restrictors in 33 gtst's that I know of.

They do run a dual-stage solenoid though. Have a look in the DIY section there should be an easy mod to make it run 7psi all the time instead of 5psi then 7psi. After you've done that get a Turbotech manual boost controller and wind it up to 12psi.

She'll be right mate.

Hey T.

Where are you from in the states.

Which liner do you have?

I'm from NYC but moved here from Vegas.

I have a gtst 96.

But I am an American...LOL

LOL! Your profile says your from Sydney...

this is the route im going, i ditched the little hose from the boost solenoid to the "t" fitting with the restrictor in it, by passed the coolant hose thru the throttlebody and tonight i am ditching the dual boost gimmick, looking for a manual boost controller and a boost gauge tonight as well. that should give me enough kick in the ass until i put a top mount, garret, FMIC.

thanks for the help.

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
