Was just wondering if anybody could help me...

i bought my car back in december, it was at 92,000kms, now the car is at 103,000kms... so the service is due, i was just wondering if a warranty would cover this?

I cant find the paperwork for the warranty i got, but if its a used car @ $25000, surely there is some sought of cover eh?

Cheers

Guy

If it was in the 90,000's at the car yard, usually ones I've seen they have already had the service done to make it more appealing to sell. If it wasn't done on yours that could have been a point to bring up at the time of making on offer on it, because as mentioned maintenance isn't covered by warranty. Check to make sure it definately wasn't done but that could be your last hope...

And to follow on, unless you got an extended warranty, then you only have limited items that you can claim on and warranty usually runs out between 1-3 months IIRC... but thats from a car dealer.

Import brokers & compliancers are a different kettle of fish, but once again, can offer extended warranties, which very few ppl take anyway.

Nothing says that someone (being a personal sale or car yard) has to do any servicing on the car.

Its due for the 100,000km service which will have to come out of your pocket. To do everything properly, you would probably be looking around $1000.

    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
    • Sounds like a misfire. Check fuel pressure and don't even think about going into boost while it's like this unless you enjoy engine rebuilds.
