got my rb26 built and started. see oil inside radiator sad.gif

engine was fully stripped down for one year and we started to build 2 weeks back. So I used same head gasket (cometic 1.2mm).

can it be the head gasket doing this mess????

gasket was in average condition and previously used for only 1000ks before motor had spun bearing.

Too add to this, with rb26s having a 12mm head bolt hole it makes the block material a little thinner and they usually crack from the head bolt hole to the water jacket

also if the block and head don't have a 7ra finish the metal head gaskets can leak via the grinding/ milling marks

yeh as beer baron said, oil pressure is generally always greater then your water pressure.

Not just generally. It is always greater. Radiators are designed to operate between 13 and 16 psi. Oil pressure should be 20 psi at idle and 10 psi more per 1000rpm after than.

thanks for the valuable input. I'm going to check this accordingly.

btw I still use factory head & main bolts. it should be ok yea?
