Hi all

Just got a wheel alignment done and the car now tracks all over the place.

Can anyone tell me if these setting are right. I have ajustable front castor and camber

arms, coilovers and hicas is still in.

Rear axle left right

camber -2*24' -1*21'

individual toe +0.6mm +1.0mm

total toe +1.6mm

geometrical driving axis +0`02'

Front axle left right

castor 10` +4*45' +3*05'

K.P.I 10` +18*01' +16*12'

camber -0*51' -1*13

individual toe +0.7mm +1.0mm

total toe +1.7mm

setback -3.3mm

included angle 10` +17*11' +14*11'

Also the wheels are 19 x 9.5 +28mm off set, which he thinks is the problem.

Thanks

If your in Vic I'd recommend traction tyres, excellent customer service and decent pricing.

Also check the SydneyKid group buys, he's got a recommended alignment in each of them for various model's of skyline.

Yeah but Sydney kids settings are for when you use his parts.

I asked a question with regards to camber settings when using stock sway bars and certain springs and i got some smartarse answer from son of sydneykid...

It cos you have FAT tyres. If you put skinnies back on it wont do it as bad,....but your settings are average.

Why such differing front camber? Has your car been in an accident?

Looks like a bent front upright or something to me. Huge difference in KPI and this isn't showing up on the camber, so there's something not right there. Rear camber's all over the shop, not sure if something in the rear's bent too or? The wheel aligner could've at least spent the extra 5-10mins to get the toe even on the rear.

Really?

I checked with traction tyres and showed them the SydneyKid settings and they said that's close to there recommended settings with one minor change somewhere. EDIT: For street, they said they would make changes if it was for a track day.

And I'm not using the SydneyKid parts...

this read out of settings was done from pedders? yes.

regardless of where it was done NO , it is not good.

what is your intended use of the car and what tyres are you using, sway bars, coilovers etc etc etc......

im from TRUTRACK SUSPESION, give us a call on 9326 5392 and we will get it sorted out properly.

Thanks for the replies,

Yes, it was done at Pedders. I have just noticed that the target data settings on the sheet they gave me

are for a R31 skyline.

The car has D2 coilovers (which I don't like), jap ajustable front camber arms and ajustable castor rods. Eveything else is standard; it is an Australian model and hasn't been in an accident. It currently has 90,000kms. Street use only.

The problem is I live in Canberra and there is not many good places around!

Thanks again.

Cheers

    • This car has run before on this z32 ecu can get the part number for you, I have tried with no AFM it didn’t change anything, I compression tested today 140-150 across all 6 cylinders, also set fuel pressure to 43psi. The only weird thing was cylinder 1 plug was black and fouled other 5 cylinders were just wet with fuel. Spun cas by hand and confirmed injectors are clicking

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
