yeh well this oil pressure bull**** has put me off boosting my car.

it went in for a service last thursday and was supposed to have boost controller fitted but i bailed. now i need to buy an oil pressure guage instead... dont want to have to replace the engine AGAIN

ill definately be down, will probably race.... not looking so good on times though i dont think:D

Main bearing as in Big End Bearing?!?!

Basically I think what they mean is if the bearing is worn then the oil will leak out the sides and will possibly not allow the oil to coat the entire bearing instead just leaking out near the oil hole that is within the bearing?!?

I'm not 100% sure though.

T04e doesn't sound laggy at all if it comes on full boost at 3500-4000rpm.

Around the same as a HKS 2530 BB Turbo but can make more power?!?! Is that right? .

How much did the engine rebuild cost approx?

Also maybe speak to WDRacing on SDU as he has a T04e and I think is running Alcohol Injection, he has been running it like this for some time now and it seems to be reliable.

im running 9psi and making around 210rwhp

i didnt rebuild the engine, i just bought a new one as the RB20s are so cheap these days

i still dont understand why sometimes the oil pressure is fine and sometimes its really low... does this sound like a worn bearing or could it be a dodgey guage?

So did your old engine have the same pressure fluctuations?

If not well try to swap the oil pressure sender that is located near your oil filter.

It looks like a little screw in plug that you connect a wire to.

Mine does fluctuate quite a bit also and some times it is down just above the 0.

well unless my motor was ****ty to start with then mine could blow, but ive only ever run it at 9psi which is tuned to 11:1 so it cant be leaning out or anything

if it does blow then i can replace it on warranty (3month) but the wreckers will be bastards cos of the aftermarket turbo thing...

ok ive done a bit of epxerimenting recently, the oil pressure only dips into it critical area (les than 2kg cm2) when i have less than 1/4 tank of fuel!!!!!

what the f*ck is going on?!

does anyone have ANY ideas? this is getting weirder, i know an aftermarket oil pressure guage will tell the story but im a bit out of pocket at the moment so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!:P

Mine does the exact same !!!!

I did it a while ago as well then just fixed it self i think if you get a mechanical oil pressure gauge it will read correctly.

The oil pressure sensor must be farked !

I have noticed since I put the Puraoil PureONE Oil Filter (the best one they have) that my oil pressure is more consistant and doesn't seem to really drop at all under the first 1/4 line.

Then again it could be just the sender working for a little bit?!?!

Doesn't matter as long as she doesn't tic.

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
